As these Clippers deal continue to get nixed by reported Danny's asking prices, maybe he doing this on purpose to disgruntle Doc into quitting & make KG retire.? IDK of course but lets think best case scenario.

#1). Trade Paul Pierce to the Cavs for the reported picks 31 & 33 plus the BIG player exception. Good deal if you dead set on turning the page on the Pierce era.

#2). Once you trade Pierce maybe he's hoping Doc quits for the broadcasting booth which makes KG retire while freeing up even more money. Big leftover dollars in the Celtics kitty.

3). Danny then makes a splash to bring in Josh Smith maybe possibly even throwing in a couple prospects in to facilitate a sign & trade maybe Jeff Green & 1st for Josh Smith or Bradley & 1st whichever package Atlanta would take to make it worthwhile for them being they would lose Josh anyways.

4). Once those 2 shoes drop you Danny would have to put on his recruit hat like he did for KG & tell Rondo & Smith to convince their buddy to come join them in Boston. Those 3 has mentioned before that they would love to play together & they hard sales pitch might sway him to come & form another young Big 3! I don't believe Dwight likes the Lakers too much & maybe LA would be more apt to sign & trade him here as opposed to the Clippers who is in their division & trying to steal the Lakers thunder. So if LA absolutely knew DH-12 would indeed come here in FA would they take back a package including Sullinger, Melo & Bradley or Jeff Green & 1 or 2 future 1st rounders? Not totally out of the realm of possibilities.

PG: Rondo/T-Will
SG: C. Lee/Jet
SF: 2nd rounder/LLE or FA vet min. looking for a title
PF: Josh Smith
C : Dwight Howard

We would have a big hole at SF but that's the easiest position in the NBA to fill. And quality bench depth would be a problem. But like you see with any BIG 3 of the past, free agents would come & play for the cheap to try to compete for a title... Also Sullinger & Jeff Green fills out that Lakers lineup nicely for their style of play in D'Antoni system & allows Pau to move to Center.

I can't imagine Lakers management trading a guy who's a year away out from being the best center in the league for Jeff Green and change, especially after they reportedly turned down a package of Bledsoe and Blake.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Isn't Dwight a free agent?

I hope Wyc will fire DA and hire you ;D

Yeah, I was referring to the poster's idea of a Sign-and-Trade for Dwight.

Well, if Dwight in fact informed them that he was signing elsewhere and would not be coming back it would be in their best interest to get something back for him, thus facilitate a sign and trade. Just like the Raptors did for Bosh. The Cavs did for LeBron. The Suns did for Nash, etc.

The problem with this post is that precisely zero percent of it makes any sense.

Danny Definitely Thought of this one

good effort, but it doesn't make sense to get nothing out of KG/Doc when there is a chance to get something.

Iron Man Green is a better fit for this team than Josh Smith/Dwight, he can make his free throws and has offensive abilities aside from his physical skills.

I think Danny Ainge is trying everything to get more assets to play with in the 2014 summer.

You better have a bunch of guys who can hit 45% of their three pointers playing on the wings if you're going to play Rondo, Smith, and Dwight together.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.
