Eh right now we're going with national writers, and the gist is they don't want Doc all that badly.

No surprise Sterling hates paying coaches.

Well, I say now the Celtics should just keep KG, Pierce and Doc and go after Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Paul Millsap or Josh Smith.

Maybe this is a sign that rebuilding is not the way to go, this year.

Seriously. Try to get rid of the contract waste anyway you can (Terry, Lee, Bass, even Green), deal Rondo and try to get Chris Paul, if for no other reason, to stick it to the Clippers (well, and because Paul is the best PG in the NBA.)

Whelp I guess the Clippers weren't all that interested in Doc after all. At least Sterling wasnt, I shouldn't be shocked he had his GM's negotiating without the authority to close the deal, but I still am.

You've got to hand it to him, Sterling may have turned (a) pursuing one of the top coaches in the league and (b) offering him a contract making him the highest-paid coach in the league into...yet another embarrassment for the Clippers franchise.

I wouldn't have thought that was possible.

Aka this might not actually be dead, ugh.

It sounds like Boston got fed up and walked away this time and had Doc's camp say he's done with this to Woj.

A 2nd round pick is a fair deal. If Danny manages to wiggle any more than that out of someone that will be one heck of a feat.

Clippers, or anyone else, shouldn't give up a first rounder for Doc.

Dear Clippers,

When NBA free agency begins and Chris Paul looks like he's leaving you empty handed by heading to Dallas... Just wanna let you know that we are willing to offer you our Top 10 PG with a torn ACL if you convince Chris to agree to a sign-and-trade with us.  Better than nothin.  We already got Doc and KG here waiting for him.
