Anyone else gets the feeling that this picture seems like fake and unnatural? :-\

While it seems he made the right choice, I've had the opinion that he has looked and sounded very uncomfortable and awkward in most the interviews I have seen him in this year.

I'm pretty sure Ray is far past feeling any type of regret for leaving... It's been a full year and he got what he wanted.  He had the last laugh.

I'm pretty sure there is in NBA a real GM who can let a great player like Ray going at zero cost... One reason more to fire DA in particular after game 6 when Ray saved MIAMI

Agreed.  I think deep down he regrets his decision.  I doubt he'll admit it (even to himself) until well after his playing days are over, but, yeah, that's how it seems.

I don't have any real bad feelings for Ray anymore after watching this year, as I'm sure this championship would be no where near as satisfying as 2008 for him. From an outside view, winning it as a role player in Miami would be far less gratifying than winning it in Boston as part of the 'Big 3' and being a starter (even after Bradley). To bad he wouldn't go down with Pierce and KG in Boston, because he had a place here and was valued.

That said, I'm happy for him he got what he wanted. Time to move on.

I'd be hard pressed to say, deep down, he is as gratified by this championship.  He was, as you said, a role player.

But....

He did exactly what he was brought there to do, hit a big shot in a big moment.  That series-saving three he hit in the waning moments of game 6 was vintage Ray (made me feel like puking).  I'm sure he feels plenty vindicated for just that moment alone.

The whole thing has always seemed pitiful to me.

And somehow, them winning seemed to make it even sadder for him. It has to be such an empty feeling. Yeah I guess the shot he made was huge and therefore validates him, but was it all really worth it?

He basically paid money (by walking from a bigger contract from BOS) to for this ring and lost a legacy with a historic franchise. Any ring he wins will pale in comparison to anything accomplished in Boston. I'd personally rather have my numbers in the rafters alongside legends of the game than an extra ring that I rode coattails for.

He went from an all-star and future HoFer and integral part of an elite organization to a poor man's Robert Horry.

I was upset when he left. Mad when he opened his mouth. Then I stopped caring altogether. I'm just sorry he had to be a part of our championship, he clearly lacks the concept of Celtic Pride or Ubuntu despite years of preaching it.

Cant imagine how he would be regretting his decision. He is the reason the Heat were able to get a game 7. As many huge shots Ray knocked down for us, his shot the other day will definitely be the shot he is most remembered for.

Also, although i doubt he has the tight teammate bonds he has had in Boston, I get the feeling he is very well respected and loved by his teammates in Miami. I cant imagine him giving one **** about Boston right now. His decision to leave has been validated. good for him. I will always love Ray.

How valued can a guy be when he has always in trade rumors and actually told he was traded at one point?

If he misses that jump shot in game 6 Lebron is being called a choke artist right now. Sigh.

Boston didn't want him. They tried trading him but Memphis decided they didn't want him.  We didn't make signing ray a priority.  We benched him for the overrated Bradley and then signed terry for ray to split minute with.  Bad situation.  Boston was back to being a fringe playoff team and Miami was a contender.  He made a wise choice signing with them.  He hit the biggest shot of the year.  Dude is completely vindicated. He improved his legacy this year in a big way.

Ray Allen is validated for his decision by winning a ring. Do you think he cares about being here in Boston, especially with the fiasco that's going on right now and he'd probably be involved in trade talks if he was still here?

His role is different in Miami and that's what he signed up for. He helped them during their winning streak and at the beginning of the season he saved them with numerous game winners (ugh).

He just gave a recent interview this week talking about they bond they share off the court is AMAZING, so I seriously doubt he's hung up on Boston.
