the way I see these deals with the Clippers there is a lot of wink wink going on.

The deal is really Garnett for DJ and 1 pick.

and 1 pick for Boston doing a wink wink waiver of PP.

We are not really getting anything back for releasing Doc.

Love KG, but you guys will be pleasantly surprised with DJ when he gets good coaching in Boston. He is an imposing specimen with good athleticism. He will do well with Rondo.

I believe DA has done well to either retool, or fast-forward our rebuild.

I don't think DA wanted PP or KG back, and he definitely did not want to pay a burnt out Doc 7 million. It will be a coup if he gets these deals through.

well technically (and hopefully) we can still get a trade with PP.
I guess essentially it'd be another wink wink, but we can get SOMETHING for him then that team can waive him or something.

You realize this theory isn't substantiated in any way, shape or form, right?

if you compare value in and value out,  you will see that Doc's value in this deal is only the relief that Celtics don't have to pay his overblown contract. Short of that we are not really getting compensation for him. The compensation coming in his barely enough to pay for KG and (wink wink) PP.

Except for the fact that, as noted above, KG doesn't go to the Clippers without Doc, making him invaluable to the trade.

If Doc is the real value, then Clippers are getting FLEECED. CP3 may just regret this when it is all said and done.

This is a classic which comes first the chicken or the egg.
Doc was nothing without the roster DA built for him in 2008.

Doc is nada without KG. KG is driving this deal, he started driving in 2008, why do you think Doc wants so much to keep KG wherever he goes?

Actually doc screws them over a bit

He wants to coach bledsoe, so they can't flip him

the other thing is doc isnt the best coach for a rebuilding team, he needs to coach veteran stars, not young talent.

Agreed. If you give Doc a team full of veterans who know what's expected of them and are professionals, he'll be all set. This Clips roster looks almost perfectly drawn up for him (save Blake, but Blake can be the 2008 Rondo of this group as far as talented youngster).

So who coaches the hopefully very coachable young roster the Cs get when Doc is in LA?

This is the question Danny has to answer with a top priority now.

If we had a different point guard I'd dig Shaw and the Triangle.

It's too bad George Karl doesn't want to coach a rebuild--he'd be a great fit.

Has there been a single story of the Doc/KG saga that's even hinted that what you're saying is true? This is just denial.
