Say this Clippers deal finally goes through and the Celts somehow land Bledsoe along with Jordan and Butler.

And then say the Celts work out a sign and trade and deal some combination of either Pierce OR Green, Avery Bradley and Butler's expiring for Josh Smith.

Wouldn't a starting five of Rondo, Bledsoe/Courtney Lee, Jeff Green OR Paul Pierce, Josh Smith and Deandre Jordan be just as good if not better than the team we had this year?

If so, wouldn't that be the ideal scenario, a retool that instantly makes us better.

I do admit that starting five would probably drive us nuts offensively, but think of the athleticism, rebounding and defense.

Also, if Rondo is finally the go to guy and has a more comparable team work with, would it not make him an even better player?

Last year's team went 41-40. I think that team goes 44-49 wins.

I think it will be better than last year's.

i think our starting lineup will be:

PG - Bradley
SG - Lee
SF - Green
PF - Bass
C - Deandre

... Rondo will take his sweet time coming back.  Sully off the bench.  We'll win 25 games.

That seems about right.  Danny isn't trading KG and Doc with thoughts of keeping Paul Pierce around.  He'll be traded by June 30th.

Ugh, gross.

Bradley can not handle being a PG and Bass is not a good player.

This would not be an enjoyable team to watch, at all.

Yup, and they can use the fact that two of the 3 best players on that team, Rondo and Sullinger, are working their way back slowly from injury as an excuse for losing that many games.

We'll have a few nice stretches where Sullinger and Rondo are starting and healthy, but overall they'll lose a ton of games and get a top 6 or 7 pick.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I'm more optimistic than that but your scenario where we get the 6th or 7th pick is also very good for the franchise.

I wouldn't be shocked if they moved Bass Terry and/or Lee in deals to get under the tax. If Rondo and Sully take a long time coming back and we lose those three for players on shorter contracts we could end up starting
Jordan, Bradley, Green and a rookie. That is a bad team. By the time Rondo and Sully come back we could be too far gone.

DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Hate Bradley at the point and Bass at the four. There has to be something out there worth it for Pierce right?

The state of the C's starting roster is at the same as "a source" tonight described the C's negotiations re: Doc, or "delicate".

Or, to put it another way, who starts for the C's to open the season next year is about as certain as who the Pats will open with at tight end.

Bradley is not a PG, he sucks at PG.   Bledsoe is a better player than AB, even on the defensive end if you have watched him play.

He can do the same kinds of stuff Avery does on D.

He is better offensive player

He is stronger built and not as fragile as Avery.  if we get him and it's in doubt no way Avery will play ahead of him.

I think that team could be even worse, 18-22 win team, if you coupled it with a weak bench.

A strong bench could lift it to 25-30 wins though.

Anyway, I don't think this will happen. Rondo is expected back around training camp to November. So I don't think Boston will be bad enough to sink this low without further tearing apart the team.

We're gonna soon join the Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers, who were once the reigning beasts of the East, with that starting lineup.
