  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
There were whistles, and non-whistles, both ways. The Spurs got tons of close calls go their way (especially in the 3rd). Putting the outcome of this game on the ref's in any way is ridiculous. IT is easy to say, oh Miami would have got the call on the Manu drive, but how many drives this series, and this game, were there not bail out whistles for LeBron drives?

No one got robbed by the refs. Not San Antonio in this game. Not Miami in any others.

Seems like, rather than look at the plays of the game, everyone's recourse is to immediately in the aftermath look at the ref's. This series has been very well officiated.

Agree, best series in a LONG time.

SAS blew the game at the FT line.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
And I don't think Bosh's was much of a foul.  I like physical play being allowed and beyond that, he stuffed the shot before the body came into play.

Body contact came first, I believe.  This can't be a no-call:

This is a foul. Not that it might change anything, I mean Green is going to the foul line and we all know what they did there. But you have to call this.

If Ray gets called for a foul after he shot the ball and Green landed on his body during Game 5, so should this.

When the stakes are this high, why is there no video reviews by the officials, from all angles, before play continues?

much better overall ref'd series than miami / indy which i had to stop watching, no doubt there was a blatant 1 sidedness with refs

no way is the green 3 pointer NOT a foul

James is 23-3 in the playoffs when Crawford's in the game. He is 41-50 when Crawford is not in the game. Do the math.

Just calculated it.  You're wrong.

LeBron is 76-39 (66.1%) in playoff games in which Joey Crawford IS NOT an official.

He is 11-11 (50%) in playoffs games where Joey Crawford IS an official.

76 + 39 + 11 + 11 = 137 (playoff games LeBron has played in; will be 138 on Thursday).

It should be noted that the Heat are 2-0 in this series when Crawford is reffing (he reffed games 2 and 6).

TP. I got those numbers from an "NBA expert" on another site and I didn't bother to check. I stand corrected.

That Bosh block was definitely a foul.  That said, Spurs shot themselves in the foot.  What a freakin' bummer.  Hope they come out hard for Game 7.

Manu was mugged. Bosh committed a clear body foul before the block.

But if anyone's surprised they weren't called, they're not paying attention to the coddling ESPN's Team has gotten from the NBA officials since Riley bought them all.

No man... SAS robbed SAS

that's what i'm saying
anyone mad at 2 noncalls at the end of the game clearly didn't watch Manu give up 8 turnovers out of like 17. they also didn't see Tony Parker start to chuck up shots.

Deleted.

The conspiracy theory issue makes such little sense and isn't worth my time.

In all sincerity, then why watch basketball? If it is all rigged, all coddled superstar teams what is the point of watching? Do you get any enjoyment from it? Or is confirmation bias and outrage the pleasure?

Look, I don't think either of those should have been called. I don't think Miami had any unfair advantage in this game. The Spurs were the beneficiaries of a lot of close whistles this game as well. Slow down any play and watch it a hundred times and there will likely be a foul that went uncalled.

Why aren't you outraged that Manu's travel previous to Ray Allen's contact wasn't called?

That was an incredible game. If the takeaway conversation is two borderline whistles that weren't blown, that went in line with how the game was called, well, what is the fun in harping on all that rather than looking at, enjoying, and celebrating just how great a game that was?

I don't get it.

Glad to see all of this Popovich criticism.

Seems like the only coach people throw dirt on here is Doc, while Pop seems to get praised to high heavens.

Doc has made some head scratching lineup decisions in the past year, but he's far from the only elite coach to do so.

oh i'd still take Pop over Doc
Manu had to be played as Patty Mills and Cory are out injured. Who else should he play?
When Manu was doing poorly he got pulled.

My biggest problem was taking Tim out in regulation. Very stupid.

and why aren't we talking about the 3rd quarter being called overwhelmingly in the favor of the Spurs?

Kgainez,

Let's talk about WHY the Heat, who are the WORST complainers in the league, bar none, were NOT complaining much in the third, shall we?

They knew there would be an OVER-CORRECTION in the 4th and boy did they get it.

If LJ and DW didn't know the fix was in, they would have been whining and getting technicals in that 3rd quarter.

But no, they just were calm.  WHY?  They knew what the 4th would bring.
