Manu fouled on clearly his third step?

C'mon guys. I hate the Heat too, but the refs didn't decide the outcome of this game. If anything, I thought more 50/50 calls were in Spurs favor.

This is on SAS. Missed F/T..turnovers and Pop substitutions in the 4th. This just goes to show that even the best coach in the league can make some costly mistakes.

First off, that was probably the greatest basketball game I have ever seen. Tony Parker's absurd step back 3 followed by Ray Allen doing what he was born to do.

I do not think it was unevenly called, though, and I am usually all on the refs when Miami is involved. This game, and series, has been called very evenly in my opinion.

Yeah I really diddnt like Pop taking Parker out on that last (or 2nd to last) drive. He is your best shot maker and you gotta give him a chance to win it.

The last non-call on Bosh for body blocking green out of bounds was absolutely a foul.  100% should be called every single time no matter how much the refs are 'letting them play'.  You see shooters all the time barely touched on their hand who get that call.  Bosh body blocked him.  It was insanely bad.

Yes, the spurs dug their own grave tonight.  Too many Manu TO's, missed free throws, bad substitutions by Pop.  All of that doesn't change the fact that the refs absolutely blew the last call.

That was probably the one non call all game that I thought really should have been. But the refs were not calling a lot of fouls, and just letting the players be a bit more physical all game. So while I thought it should have been called for a foul, I can understand, based on how they called the game, how it was not. Huge bummer for the Spurs, and a waste of an incredible game for Duncan. He was out of his mind good for most of the game.

No man... SAS robbed SAS

You're both right.

SAS missed FTs and had bad turnovers down the stretch.

Miami was aided by two very big, very clear non-calls that changed the game.

We all knew that if SAS gave the refs a chance to intervene they would...unfortunately SAS gave them that chance.

Adding to the pile already mentioned, how does SAS not foul Bosh after that rebound. Plus, Pop taking out Duncan on both of those last two possessions of reg really backfired..

I usually am so ticked off about the refs, but last night SAS just flat out blew it.

There is body contact, they call those when LeBron needs a bail out on a bad shot but Danny Green, NOOOOOO.

Glad to see all of this Popovich criticism.

Seems like the only coach people throw dirt on here is Doc, while Pop seems to get praised to high heavens.

Doc has made some head scratching lineup decisions in the past year, but he's far from the only elite coach to do so.

This was a VERY even called game, maybe even favored SAS for most of it. The HUGE mistake by Pop which costed them the game and led to the Ray 3 was TAKING OUT DUNCAN!!!!! I really dont understand coaches trying to match up with Miami's size when they have the advantage, first Vogel with Hibbert, now POP with DUNCAN!!!!

Anyway combine that with all the missed FTs and SAS lost the game. I do NOT blame the refs at all, Joey Crawford actually called a good game. he did however blow the Ginobli non foul call, but hey...that was one blown call. To bad it was a crucial one.

Yup! When I saw Popovich take out Duncan, I was yelling at my TV! Why in the hell do you take out your center who played so well for you at the end of the game, and sacrifice rebounds that could've helped your team win the game.

Popovich is an idiot. I don't even get why he gets the praise that he does. What a bush league coaching job.

because unlike Doc rivers, this coaching snafu is an anomoly.  Doc woulda drawn up a Pierce Iso when we're down by 5.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I don't agree, the third quarter was clearly called in SAS's favor.
They didn't call a foul on Danny Green when Lebron got stripped when it could've been called a foul in real time very easily. They let the Ray contact on Manu go but I thought Manu travelled. This one was 50/50 and could've gone either way.
Lebron got absolutely hammered on his way to the rim on multiple occasions.

The refs don't steal a 5 point lead with 38 seconds left.
Horrid plays by the Spurs down the stretch kept the Heat with a punchers chance.
Bosh's pick and roll defense on Parker and Duncan was phenomenal. His blocks and defense in the 3rd and 4th were unreal.
I loved this game because they let them play and it was detrimental to Miami. They didn't protect Lebron in the paint. They didn't let him steamroll his way to the free throw line.

Great game and reffed fairly. Miami was clutch when it counted.

That last Danny Green shot there was definitely contact, but Bosh appeared to go straight up and Green was fishing for the three and the foul. I don't think Bosh's contact is enough to affect the quality of the shot.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Hard to argue with any of this.  Ray and Lebron hit HUGE shots, you can't take that away from them.
Totally agree with the point that Popovich blew it taking Duncan out.  He had to be watching the Indiana series when taking Hibbert out was a huge mistake.  I actually lost sleep over this.  I can't imagine how much this would irk me if it happened to he Celtics.
Another side note - the Heat don't win this game without Ray Allen.  I'm 10% happy for him, 90% annoyed by it.
I thought Bosh's block on Green was fairly clean since he had all ball up top.  Ray's foul on Manu was way worse, but that's a tough call for the refs to make with such little time.
The NBA shouldn't have Joe Crawford ref any Spurs Finals game.  Conspiracy theorists will be all over it.
