If this deal is dead what happens now? Does Doc come back do we bring him back? Do we tell KG Pierce we got one last shot in the tank and lets take it as hard as we can next year? Have Pierce come off the bench? So many questions going to be a hot summer in Beantown.

I still dont see how Doc can possibly come back but it sounds like he still is in favor with the Celtics organization
Its just the fan base that is gonna have a hard time with it.

Ainge has two options. Hope KG hangs it up, get rid of Pierce and go into rebuild mode like he wants to. Or, he runs it back with our roster as constituted and watch our team flame out in the first or second round of the playoffs again.

Try to trade one of Pierce/J.Green for a high quality big man.

That's what I'm wondering too. How do the Boston fans feel.

I said it a couple of times already but I will say it again.

According to Grande and Max's podcast, Doc doesnt want to leave. He wanted to go at it again with the rest of the guys but Danny insists on rebuilding, and Doc wanted no part of it so they explored their options.

If that's the case, then it tells me that Doc is outside of not wanting to rebuild, is loyal to his guys and he thinks they can still make a run next year. I don't see that being a problem when he comes back.

I've no problem with doc staying.  Pierce comes off bench.  Move terry, melo, lee and bass (draft picks) for a big or sign a quality free agent big.
give kg as much time off as he wants so he's healthy for playoffs

i'm more disappointed with terry (whole season) bass most of the season and lee playoff disappearing act than worried about kg and pp.

if kg retires look at best option for moving pp to a contender, he deserves that

i personally like the team of
rondo, bradley or other sg, sully, green, kg

This one is easy. Pay PP his 5 mil by waiving him. Let KG decide what he wants to do which will most likely be to retire. Let Doc decide what he wants to do. If he wants to go broadcast, then fine. If some other team wants to offer us 2 first rounders for Doc to have him coach there then take it. If he wants to stay and rebuild then that is fine too. Try and find a great deal for Rondo. If not then let him rehab until he is 110% and try and find a trade for him at the trade deadline. Then start to really rebuild.

See if we can get David West to sign for MLE and run it back!  These guys are in it to win it, or they would not have agreed to go to a contender.

Trade Pierce, trade Rondo once he's healthy and proves he can still play. Let KG and Doc retire. Try and get rid of our bad contracts (Lee, Bass, and Terry).

Why would David West leave a team that is better prepared to win a title than we are?! They are a better PG away from beating the Heat. Even with him we aren't even close and on the downhill slide. No way David West would come here.

We enjoy reading the Los Angeles papers for the next few days and listen to a lot of Sportcenter analysis on how good of an owner Sterling is  :P

After that, who knows...Denver seems like a good fit for KG, Doc and Pierce..plus I would get to see them as I relocated here...

Well, the second option really has a 2a and a 2b.
There is the built in option of trading KG and PP to a contender before the trade deadline, if it looks like Cs have no shot (or if some team really wants to pay for one of those two for a deep run).
Celtics fan for life.
