I am a huge KG fan.
I have never started a thread before but I gotta say this.

K.G., just a year ago was wowing everyone with his (I ain't got his #)bit. Sure, Ray up and left and everyone was talking about how "Old School" K.G. is. Now keep in mind that everyone who was saying Ray kinda stuck it to the C's by not doing a S&T or something anything but take less to play about the same minutes to go chase a ring....they were being told it's the C's who %&*'d over Ray. Well, judging by Ray's own words he had a mind to stick it to the C's and he did.

Ray got paid for his services. Be happy.

Fine.

Now K.G. is (this makes Danny's weak position seem easier to read) possibly putting the C's in a tough spot and so far the Jeff guy or all the writers are not even speculating about K.G.'s effect on this coming disaster.

What gives? Before we knew what Ray was up to this site was a daily Ray-athon but K.G. might be f___ing us worse and not even speculative posts? This is a gang r*pe and K.G. is pushing the train ...makes sense...he ..Mr Old School...got no comment and ya all just digging on Doc?

K.G. has been paid a lot of money and he has built a rep with the help of Beantown writers. Now he just rolls outta bed and into a Clips uni while we get f___ed and nobody is even mentioning it?

I love KG too but if this deal goes down, it's feeling like KG is getting a free pass and everyone just craps on Doc. They BOTH look bad to me at this point. It's not about "Bleeding Green" or "I'm a Celtic"....It's about chasing a ring with L.A., Paul and Griffin. It's like watching what the Heat did with Lebron and doing it themselves. All it would take to stop all of this is for KG to say "I bleed Green, I'm retiring Green". He's NOT saying it. I love KG. But he's an accomplice to the crime.

Tell us how you really feel.

O.K.

They say (Remember most of the rumors about friction between Ray and R.R., Danny...turned out to be spot on) It was kinda obvious wasn't it?

Now, They say Doc is the person who advised against trading Bledsoe. They say it was intentionally "leaked". If that is even remotely possible it's a bigger F___ Y__ than Ray gave ...by far and sounds like tampering? Doc is still until released...being paid by the Celts. I would hate to be Danny right now for a number of reasons and I never thought Doc and K.G. would be a couple of them.

I cannot f'ing believe this is all happening?

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I have no problem with him leaving because Danny has decided the time has come to rebuild/blow it up.
They know we can't win. KG means too much to basketball to let him sit and rot here with Pierce while we get punished by the Knicks or Heat or Chicago or Indiana in round one next season.
The train to Boston has come and gone.
It's time to move on. KG's got 2 years in him. Pierce has 2 or 3. Let em ball. It's not the Lakers. Doc's given us 9 years of blood, sweat and tears. Great money but all that time away from his kids, family. He gave that up for the Celtics. Why pay him 7 million when we wanna suck? Let him go coach and love the game with KG and Pierce. That's who he wants to win for...KG and Pierce. It's still a level of Celtic pride. They'll be bringing a Celtic culture to LA and they'll always be remembered as Celtics.
We are lucky that KG is agreeing to go to LAC with Doc. We'd get nothing otherwise and miss out on the 2014 draft sweepstakes.
KG and Pierce get a shot at another title and make sure the Lakers don't get one.
After everything they gave us.
Let em ball man. Let em ball.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I dont think that is accurate...KG has bled green as well as Doc, KG is the reason he didnt get traded to LA at the deadline, but when is enough a enough. We cant expect a player to  be  loyal to a team when the GM is always trying to get rid of them. They are pushing for Pierce and KG to leave so why be mad when the players finally say OK

The difference is that I am incredibly confident that KG would return to Boston if Pierce was kept, same for Doc.

KG is huge on loyalty, but in this case his loyalty lies with his close friends, Doc and PP.  I'm pretty sure on the inside, KG and Doc have pushed to keep the trio together, but I don't think DA at such a pivot time for the team, had much interest in bringing  a declining PP back for $16M...and I in a way I don't blame him.

But KG, Pierce are like brothers, and would take any opportunity to keep playing by his side. DDoc loves both those guys and would love nothing more than to coff h both again.  Right now, the Clippers are probably the only team interested in taking all the (and letting them play one more year together), and hence the desire to move over.  I don't think KG could beae looking at pierce as an enemy after all they have been through.

Danny's apparent decision not to bring pierce has pretty much pushed this in motion, by you really can't blame him either because it's his job to do what's best for the team's long term future.

So in this case it's a complicated situation and I understand each parties position.  Also Boston looks clearly in rebuild mode now (or at least re tool mode) so it's the last chance for those guys to make a run at a title together.  Boston just came off a first playoff exit, two of their most promising players (Sullinger and Rondo) are coming off major surgeries and they'd no idea of how effective they'll be next season, there is no cap space to improve the Tam, and there are a stack of mediocre players on long term contracts. Not promising scenario for a 37 year old future hall of fame and all star who only has a year or two of glory left.

Rays situation was completely different.  Boston wanted him back, they offered him a very fair deal, and they entered to keep the entire big 4 together.  Ready turned it down straight up and left a team that finished one game short of a finals appearance to go to the very Tam that knocked them out.

The stupidity around here is overwhelming. Danny is pulling the strings - not Garnett OR Doc. Get it right please

I got everything you said except this.

I wonder if Duncan and Pops would go this route? They mean so much to Basketball..right?
I envy San Antonio cuz they got Tim and Po. I really really envy that city. This is still a city with more banners than anyone in the sport and the cash we pay is worth the same as anyplace (besides states with no income tax). Bleed Green sounds nice.....like everything else tough it's easier said than done.

Nice flaming...stay classy.

Let us know how you know who's pulling all these strings? Doc and K.G. are really getting screwed with this going to a contender crap.

Agreed.  The original post makes no sense whatsoever.  If the Celtics/Ainge have made it clear to Garnett that they want to trade him, and he wants to keep playing, why would you blame Garnett for that?  He doesn't have to retire just because you don't want to see him in a different uni.  I love Garnett and wish he could retire as a Celt too, but he doesn't really deserve any blame here.

I don't know what they'd do. I could ask you would Duncan play if Parker and Ginobli were gone and the Spurs GM had decided to rebuild? Probably not. He'd probably go to another team or retire. We'll have to see what happens when or if the Spurs get put in such a position.
I'm assuming the only reason KG wouldn't retire is to play for Doc and with Pierce. The only reasons.
I'd assume something similar for Tim Duncan. If Pops and Parker went elsewhere because the Spurs realistically couldn't make the WCF and decided it was time to move on- they'd probably keep playing somewhere else and preferably together.
Does that make sense?

Last I checked, neither Doc or KG were running the team...

Celtics are pushing Garnett so they can get Jordan? The Celts are pushing K.G., a productive, motivating mentor who can ball for Jordan? It's Not Doc and K.G. saying we both quit or we can get you a little bit of something something?? This was all to get Jordan and Bledsoe and now that Bledsoe is off the table Danny has no leverage because ...he's ramroding himself?

Danny.....did all this? He broke his own back so he could f___k himself?

Maybe if you check back in a year or a month S.I. will do some tell all that states at this time in history...they kinda were.

Like said..Danny breaks his own back to f__k himself? I don't think so.

We all gotta believe something I guess? I just don't see it the way most folks around here do.
