2/6/13. February 6th.

That quote was during the trade deadline. There were rumors going about. This Clippers deal, however, is not a rumor - they're actually talking about this.

I'm getting really tired of these "trade talks"

Where is Doc when all these "rumors" and "sources" are all over the internet/media

Laughing at how the Celtics and Clippers actually haven't even talked once yet.

Classic media perpetration fail.

exactly

Where are these "Sources", I want evidence! So far I only read the "sources" confirming that DA said this and said that

but I haven't seen ONE video of Doc, Danny, Sterling or KG talking about this...also, Clippers want to keep CP3, don't you think the reporters will bother CP3 a little. From what I've read so far on yahoo (I ignore ESPN), they are all saying this "sources are pointing that..."

WHO AND WHAT ARE THESE SOURCES?!?!?!?!

Loyalty is a two-way street.  Danny is the one who has actively tried to trade KG.  If he finally acquiesces because Danny is blowing the team up, that's not an example of disloyalty.

WHO AND WHAT ARE THESE SOURCES?!?!?!?!

For the principals in the deal to start talking to the media before the deal is made would be incredibly dumb, with basically zero chance to benefit either team and a massive chance of screwing the negotiations up.  The only thing it would do is briefly appease a bunch of fans, many of whom would immediately wildly misinterpret anything that was said.

Leaking information through basketball writers is basically how the info is getting out from the people involved.  And it's happening often enough that it seems very likely to be deliberate, to apply public pressure to the other side.

understandable, which is why I am going to keep ignoring the sources, the rumors and media until something is actually done...

pretty much like all the "trade rumors" in the past

I'll believe it when I see it

cuz tbh, I Love Doc, and I love KG, and I absolutely love our captain, the TRUTH. So all these rumors actually makes me sad, so I rather not read too much into it

I don't recall Garnett forcing Ainge to trade him to the Clippers. And I don't see loyalty in vetoing a trade to stay with a franchise which thinks trading you is better for their team.

That's how I feel about the tiny little bits of info that come out.  Who knows which ones are true, which are half-true, and which are deliberate misinfo.

I do think when enough different people are all saying negotiations are happening that they are, though.  We're talking to the Clips, about Doc + KG.  The specifics I'll wait and see on.

This is very true. I mean hell I was banned for like 3 months (thanks Roy) for popping off on Ray leaving. I understand why he left though. The feeling on it was just horrible. KG has never once hinted or asked out of town. Posters have wanted him gone for at least two years and I don't get it. KG is still...still...one of the best 4's in the East bar none. But we want him gone for freaking Jordan??!!!

Did KG walk into Danny's office and demand a trade?

KG's a loyal guy.  He's also a very proud guy and someone who doesn't want to be a burden on a franchise.  I remember after the Heat beat us last season, you could hear him go up to Doc and say, "Do you want me back?" ...

It's almost a ridiculous question.  Why on earth would KG, the heart and soul of this franchise and arguably the best per-minute player on the court (certainly defensively) have to ask his coach, "Do you want me back?".  I took it as KG saying in that moment... he'd retire if Doc didn't want him there anymore.  Which is absurd, but that's how it was reading to me in the moment.  HOw could that guy still be looking for validation from his coach after all he's done.  That's just the kind of guy KG is.

So at this point... I imagine KG would love to remain in Boston as long as Boston will keep him.  But if Boston is hellbent on getting some garbage value for him, he reluctantly will agree to a trade to the Clippers (where he lives) as long as his coach comes with him.  I'm sure KG would prefer to remain a celtic... but Boston doesn't seem to want him any more... so it is what it is.
