Golden State once signed Jordan to an offer sheet.  Would they give up Festus Ezeli (a big man who shot 43.8% and averaged only 14.4mpg despite starting 41 out of 78 games) and the expiring contract of Andris Biedrins?

Cleveland supposedly once told the Clippers that it would take Jordan and Bledsoe to get Anderson Varejao.  Would the Cavs lower their price, given Varejao's health?  Maybe Cleveland would even be interested in getting Jordan as Varejao insurance and a deal can be worked out involving picks.

Memphis may be interested in trading an aging Zach Randolph, but they need floor-spacers and Hollinger doesn't like Jordan.

Someone else can toss out an idea of Jordan to OKC for Perkins and stuff.

I think Jordan is pretty bad.

Don't want him or his contract on the team.

Good thread idea.

I have to imagine part of the plan in acquiring Jordan is to contemplate flipping him for something we would rather have. I am really hoping we hold out for two first round picks. Ughhh.

How about Deandre as part of a package for J Smith so Horford can move to his more natural position of pf. I would also be more than happy to trade him and whatever for Horford.

I think its more realistic that we keep him this year and then try to flip him next year when he is expiring.

I think Cleveland makes some sense, but they'd want more than just Jordan most likely.

Orlando maybe? They've got Turkoglu's horrible expiring contract and Jordan could split time with Vucevic, but they're rebuilding so they probably don't want Jordan clogging their cap space.

Golden-State might work just because they need some insurance for Bogut and Ezeli just had knee surgery putting him out for 6-9 months.

OKC might consider it just to get out of Perkins' contract, but they'd be better off trying to get a guy with some better offense to pair with Thabeet.

At the end of the day though if we get Jordan I see him as a Celtic at least until next season (earliest we'd move him is at the deadline to a team that suffered a front court injury).

I really don't know if he has much trade value.

That's my biggest issue with this trade.  I don't see him as much of an asset.

another player that averages less that 10ppg and less the 40% ft and about a 10million dollar contract. I can not BELIEVE we are having this discussion.

That is exactly what I have been saying over and over again in the other thread.  Why is getting Jordan better than getting cap space when KG retires?  It seems others think that Jordan will be much easier to flip for assets than I do.

It's not happening, so give it up.  It's time to change your broken record.

For the record, I agree with you guys. I know I mentioned him in a trade with Atl above, but I really just wanted to participate in the thread  :)

I do think, though, that there are a few teams out there that really do like him. Heck, GS offered the same contract he has now and I don't think he has declined so much that he is worth nothing. We are, afterall, trading the legendary KG for him.

Obviously it won't happen. Neither will the talk about DMC or (probably) the talk about Josh Smith. So? Why can't I state that I WANT it to happen?

I think he could have been a little more pleasant about it, but about the last team in the NBA that would want DJ for a non-big is Utah. Besides, if you are swinging for the fences, are you really all about Gordon Hayward?

Jack squat is the correct answer

I'm not sure I like the advanced metrics of this Jack Squat guy.

Depending on other contracts, you might have a choice between a roster with a payroll of the soft cap plus a player signed with the room exception vs a roster with a payroll somewhere over the soft cap plus players signed with the MLE and BAE.

If the Celtics acquire a star at some point in the future, doing the deal with Jordan rather than letting KG retire makes it more likely that you will have a decent bench if the team acquires a core star in 2014 or 2015.
