I don't see why he would. A finals appearance year 1 is sort of like the holy grail of signing with a team as a free agent.

However I have heard some say that if Miami loses in the finals, Ray is all but gone.

What do you guys think?

(And before you ask... I am not implying that he would/wouldn't return to Boston if this happened, so that bit can be left out.)

Highly doubt he'd opt out.

I think the obvious choice for him after they lose or win is to retire.

It's based on your perspective, quite simply

Perhaps he can sign with the Clippers. It may be better for his family.

Nope -- I can't see why he would. He isn't going to get anything better anywhere else.

Imagine if the Spurs won, and he signed with them for a season

That would make him a year late.......AGAIN!

I won't be surprised if he opts out and joins the potential Doc, KG, and Pierce trio out in LA. No Ainge and no Rondo for RayRay to butt heads with.

I think the reason why he got the opt-out was so he could sign a better deal if one came up and make up for some of the money he left on the table in Boston.

I think that's more likely if he helps the Heat win a ring than if they lose, though.

Yeah I always thought the opt out was to give him control over any trade situation.
