In an interview w/ @nuggetsnews, George Karl said he wants to coach 3 to 4 more years, but added, "I don't want to coach a rebuilding team."

I didn't want him in the first place. I would like us to hire shaw or Van gundy.

I want our next coach to be a young guy with something to prove who nonetheless has some valuable experience to share and credibility to go along with it, to earn the ear of Rondo and our other established players.

I want somebody who isn't too big for his breeches.  Somebody who hasn't yet made his legacy as a coach.  Somebody who can be on board with the idea of building this franchise back up from the ground floor, who can grow as a coach along with our relatively young core.

anyone but Del Negro. He is not what this franchise needs

I prefer Brian Shaw...boston roots, winner, learned under phil.

NO DEL NEGRO

Yup, me too. I actually think Brian Shaw would be the perfect candidate for the Celtics.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
George Karl could've utilized our young team to do a run and gun sort of play style.

But Brian Shaw is probably the best candidate. I don't know why DA even has interest in VDN. He doesn't even fit the schematics of Celtics system at all.

I don't really know VDN that well. How would he not be a good fit?

Well if Karl wants to avoid rebuilding scenarios and just kind of walk onto a ready made champion team then I'm sure there's a college or high school team out there for him somewhere.

Someone like, Tyronn Jamar Lue? I would give him a shot. We are rebuilding anyway. If he works out, Great! If he doesn't, another big name coach can be brought in once we have our new core solidified in the next year or two.

  • It's all about the TEAM!
We went nuts over 1 season of 1 and done in the playoffs this year. Does George Karl suddenly get to the promise land with the Celtics? I kinda doubt he is the answer.

As I seen a Jazz fan post when Karl got let go "It's not the first 82 games that are the problem, it's winning 4 after the first 82 games".

He didn't even want to play for boston when he was here, what makes you think he'd want to coach in boston now?
