If the trade Danny ainge wants in which we receive, Bledsoe 2 firsts and Jordan. Do you guys think wed possibly go and sign Josh smith? Would we have the cap room for that?
A lineup of

Rondo/Bledsoe
Avery/Lee
Green/???
JSmith/Sully
Jordan/???

that is by far the most athletic/ defensive lineup but obviously would need to think about moving bradley to the bench unless his 3 point shooting improves alot.
That is a great Lineup to have to move on with, with two first round picks this year and next year. To me this is even a dream scenerio but really realistic, depending on how cap room is and would we have enough money for that?

Lol, i was about to post the same question. But if it does goes down, I would go all out to try and GET Josh Smith.
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

i agree, there isnt going to be a better free agent than josh smith this year or next year, and that lineup is fierce defensively and probably that best up and down lineup in the league next year.

C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark

If the trade goes down we're still over the cap, that's even after buying out Pierce and saving that 10 million.  We'd be at around 63 million when the cap is 58.5.  No Josh Smith unless we're making the deal a 3 way with the Hawks and DeAndre Jordan goes to the Hawks along with Terry or Courtney Lee.

Would we have the cap space? I don't see how we would. What about Pierce? Do we waive him? Would we get anything extra from the LAC? What about Terry and Lee?

I think the ideal trade is Doc, KG, Terry and Lee for Bledsoe, Butler, Jordan, and a 1st. We'd then waive ierce and LAC would sign him for the MLE.

While Rondo is out, Bledsoe would start at PG. If he played well, and showed he could be a good starter, we could flip him for some picks (or, if he played REALLY well, flip Rondo and get much more in return).

After the 2013-2014 season, we'd let Butler walk. The season after that, both Jordan and Bass would be FAs. We could probably re-sign Jordan for cheaper than he is now.

We'd have Bledsoe or Rondo, Bradley, Crawford, Green, Sully, Shav, and maybe Jordan, but still the cap space for an impact FA (as I wouldn't expect Green to demand a ridiculous amount of money).

I dont want Caron butler i say throw terry or lee or even bass in te trade to free up space so we can get josh smith, idk what Danny's plans are though if he wants josh smith idk.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
We'd still be over the cap but more importantly , whilst being athletic we'd be the worst shooting team in the NBA hands down. Free throws, jumpshots and three pointers.

Josh smith, rondo, DeAndre Jordan and Avery Bradley...
Teams would just clog the paint and we'd win 30 games a season.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Even without all those contracts, we wouldn't get Smith. He wants a max deal. We can't give it to him. I don't want Butler either, but he has a big expiring that would help us in the future. In the meantime, while he's not the greatest, he IS starting material, and we'd have him come off the bench, so our bench would be that much better.

Because other teams will have bad nights and we'll have hot nights, being athletic and young will give you 10 wins a year no matter how poor you shoot. Tanking next season will be a priority so lots of 50\50 games will go whichever way the GM tells the coach to go.
If Danny lets them play without tanking they may win 30-35 games. If he tightens the leash we'll be headed for 20-25 at most.

The Rockets reportedly let Aaron Brooks, Carlos Delfino, and Francisco Garcia free to clear cap space. I'd go for Brooks and Delfino. We need scoring and a PG if we don't get Bledsoe in the deal, with Rondo out for half the season to start with.

your a joke, and no nothing about basketball, defense wins championships that lineup is the top 3 best defensive lineups in the league even without an anchor in which possibly you could debate avery and rondo together at the top are anchors, but then add role playing shooters like the heat have done, and we are a contending team while rebuilding, your saying that team isnt top 8 team in the east your a joke, while rebuilding. This whole blog is a joke and im sick of seeing people who are saying we shouldnt do this trade. Im sorry to say it im a diehard celtics fan loved the celtics like no other when we had gerald green as our future, when we made the trades for kg n ray allen i was ecstatic, that was 6 years from now KG and pierce cannot carry a team to a championship, they are veterens who can help an already capable to win a championship team, our team doesnt have that. We need to rebuild and let go of these guys, and im not saying to blow it up because this trade has nothing to do with blowing it up, as well as receiving josh smith, that is a contedning team that with a few shooters can actually fight for a championship with how ruthless they would be on defense.
