Surprised that the poll is this close. I say no, vehemently. The guy has made it pretty clear that he hates the roster we have by wanting to move on, so how the heck is he going to motivate these players on the team if he's brought back.

that's also a great point
i think everyone, players alike, know how legit woj is...he's obviously had an insider this entire time. guys read twitter. they read the reports. they know what Doc is doing. I'm wondering how this type of thing affects the locker room.

i already felt like, esp in the absence of Rondo, he lost some of the guys. no one made a big deal about it but i always felt that way. i wonder if this will mean anything

Doc should be on the"CHEATERS".  show.

He wants to not only leave, which he is still married to the Celtics,  but he wants to STEAl and take KG from us an d at the same time wants to leverage the deal heavy in favor of the Clippers..........otherwise stack the deck in his favor as the new Madonna coach of the NBA

So , first he lies nd says ...boo hoo I'm tired an need a break,  that's hogwash, ........he wants to STAb the Celtics in the back,  take our players with him,  and make sure we get th least amount back.......... >:(

Doc Rivers Should Never be allowed to return to the Celtics organization,  he blows off his good word , lies about wanting to coach the Celtics though a rebuild period,  sneaks behind our backs to work deals with the enemy to secure his fame and leave us high and dry while raping us of Our best player.

The whole thing really stinks.    It leaves a bad taste in my mouth .

Rivers has shown himself to be a classless act., with his trifling business, he has drove the stake deep into the Celtics team and fans and deserves nothing in return

I don't think he can trusted or should be part of the Celtics team.  ...ever again

wow, that is some impressive emotional over-reaction there.  so if you worked someplace for 9 years, and you needed a change should you be ridiculed for the 'classless act'?  give me a break.  this is professional sports.  If Doc changed his mind and wants to move on so be it.  I don't get the over the top emotional responses though.  It isn't like Doc killed your brother, or slept with your mom.  sheesh

I think he likes the roster we have.  He is afraid of the roster we might have.

I have never been a big Doc supporter so care less if he honors his contract to the C's.  But I am not ok with trading KG for a young flawed overpaid center and a late first rounder.  That offer is a joke assuming no trade value for Doc.  For the length of their current contracts KG>>>>>DJ.  I am not willing to give the Clippers a bargain just to offload Doc Rivers.

As far as the rumors of Doc telling the clips not to include Bledsoe that is just funny.

What happened Doc?  Did not anticipate they want to give you a pay cut? HAHAHAHAHA jokes on you Doc...what a double talking piece of work.

nope.....he was treated well.......given a huge contract.... then turned on the C's threw them under the bus and trying to drive off with their HOF players....... leaving the team with no coach and a over paid young dunking center , who is not better than KG or PP.

THis nothing but a huge scandal to bleed the Celtics dry of talent.     Trading Ferrari 's for Kia's

That creep owner of the Clippers , can have the back stabbing Rivers ......but not our players for nothing.

Danny should be fired himself if  he deals with Rivers, keeps him, or trades KG for a scrub.

Rivers should never be allowed back in Boston Garden  as a Celtic coach

just don't see the remaining players wanting to welcome The traitor Rivers back in...... he thumbed his nose at them..... has everything he wanted,  but they weren't good enough for him to coach....

Send him to coaching hell with Bobcats or Magic

I would rather have eye herpes than to see this guy on the bench for the C's next year.  He wants out because we are going full rebuild and he wants NO part of that.  Why would anyone want a guy coaching the team that we all now know he does not want to coach??  Goodbye already.

Not really. I would rather make a change.

But I won't be too upset if he returns. Doc is a very good coach and time will heal these wounds.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Couldn't we just do the deal without KG? If CP3 wants Doc, we should still be able to get a pick or two. If we aren't getting Bledsoe, then I am not sure I want Deandre. It seems if we are going the 'tank' route [and I'm not convinced we are bad enough to be in that position], why not just trade PP for a pick and expiring, let KG retire, trade off Bass, Terry, Lee for whatever we can get and roll with Rondo and Green?

Yes.

Who is to say that Doc wasn't approached by Danny and the organization about the possibility of leaving to coach LA with KG going?   It's Danny who has shopped just about everyone the past few years, though one could argue that's his job.  My guess is that LA inquired about talking to Doc to the owners and Danny, and after internal discussions, which included Doc, Ainge started proposing terms on which they would trade KG and let Doc go.  Also, this could well have been a long-term option when Doc signed his deal, meaning if Doc left, the Cs would be able to ask for compensation.

While Doc may be a willing participant in the deal, I seriously doubt this whole thing is at his bequest.  We almost traded with the Clips at the deadline last year, and that had nothing to do with Doc.  Now Doc is getting thrown into the deal to gain leverage to get assets back, mainly Bledsoe.  I'm not upset with Doc at all....this is nothing like the Ray situation in my mind.  And I'd be more than happy to have him back, as long as the players were.

I agree with you completely.  Now, if Doc and KG could somehow talk Paul into a S&T to the Celtics...
