I think a problem with us when we are deciphering how good these players are, we odn't think of it in terms of conference.
People feel like the East is the weaker conference (I don't necessarily agree), but either way we are definitely the smaller conference. For example, a guy like Jeff Green who struggled at the 4 position in OKC made a killing in that position over here. I remember there was one game we played that line up and JG scored many points against an Eastern team. Played against a Western team and he just wasn't as effective.
So could a guy like DJ be successful in the East? He's a heavy 7 footer, shot blocker. Is he overpaid? Probably....but in the East when your biggest defenders are Bosh, Hibbert, Tyson, I'd have to suspect there's some sort of success that can be had.
Same with Bledsoe. I thought he was just wonderful and explosive.
I think the potential lineup coming from the Clippers sounds great to me, for the purposes of a rebuild. May be green glasses, but I think we can easily slip into 8th place. And I think if we can find a decent SG and another big, we'll be in a better place than we could've imagined.
