What's up with this insane idea that Doc Rivers will go coach the Clippers and that the Clippers will give up capable young players + draft picks for a 1 year rental of Kevin Garnett simply based on the assumption that Chris Paul really wants to play with KG and be coached by Doc.

It's nonsense.

If Chris Paul is desperate to be coached by Doc and play with Kevin Garnett, wouldn't it make more logical sense for him to just demand a trade to the Celtics??  He's an unrestricted free agent... he can do whatever he wants.  He can leave the Clippers empty-handed if he sees fit.  I'm sure the Clippers wouldn't mind getting back Rajon Rondo if Chris Paul wants to bolt.

Both scenarios are ridiculous... but doesn't Chris Paul to Boston make more sense than Doc+KG to the clippers for Bledsoe/Jordan and two firsts?... which btw, the Clippers front office had zero interest in doing during the trade deadline... it was the now-fired coach who reportedly was warm on the idea.

I agree.

But then you have to remember the difference between the two.

Play for the Clippers, Live in LA.

Play for the Celtics, Live in Boston.

I doubt that Chris Paul really wants to play with KG and be coached by Doc. Haven't seen anything suggesting that.

Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald found that Chris Paul spoke to KG prior to the deadline and made it clear that if Garnett wanted to become a member of the Clips, the superstar point guard would make it happen.

Beat me to it.

If CP3 came to us, he'd lose some of his coolness factor.

If Doc and KG go to L.A. all 3 get tons more street credibility.
