Sources: CP3 & D12 hope to team up next season. Have been texting back & forth to figure it out.

I'm trying to keep up with everything per the sources:
- LAC and CP3 wants Doc as a coach
- CP3 wants D12
- They also want KG?

Where is all this money coming from?

The original rumor and no one is making fun of SAS now had Griffin coming to Celtics and PP going to Clippers.

That would put D12 at Center KG at PF and PP at SF.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
A Dwight for Blake swap seems pretty easy, along with the Celtics proposed trade and KG would be able to play pf. Add in PP and that would be a very formidable team.

I am surprised Howard and Paul haven't been linked to Atlanta yet.

To my knowledge (correct me if I am wrong) but the Hawks are the only NBA team with enough cap space to offer 2 max deals.

I think a lineup of Paul, L Williams, Horford, Howard (insert SF) sounds good on paper, at least.

Hey, if Jeff Teague and Josh Smith aren't Hawks, we should try to find a way to get them.

Did you miss the Hawks being fined for tampering because their marketing department sent a letter out to possible ticket buyers about Howard and Paul maybe coming to Atlanta?

This is something that has been on the minds of a lot of people.

Blake Griffin would be so much fun in that LA Lakers team alongside Pau Gasol, Steve Nash and Kobe Bryant. That team would be an offensive powerhouse.

C - Pau Gasol
F - Blake Griffin
F -
G - Kobe Bryant, Jodie Meeks
G - Steve Nash

Yeah, I just can't see it happening.

Too hard to see the teams swap stars when they share the same building and city. GMS/Ownership would be very gunshy about that.

I may have posted in the wrong thread before - copying to this thread:

The latest on Yahoo Sports is that Chris Paul and Dwight Howard want to team up.  I know this is crazy and far fetched, but is it even remotely possible that we trade our big 3 (including Rondo) in a sign and trade and get Chris Paul back?  If so, how much more cap space would we need to clear to get Howard?

Is it possible to have a starting lineup of:

PG Paul
SG Bradley
SF Green
PF Sullinger
C Howard

That would be phenomenal!

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
Atlanta with Horford

Dallas with Dirk

Houston would have to essentially give away Asik and Lin,

The Lakers would have to find a taker for Gasol who won't send salary back

The Clippers would need to shed a bunch of salary essentially everyone but Chris Paul.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I think the Lakers would do it. Blake Griffin is a premier star to build around long and far more valuable than anything they would get offered elsewhere. If Dwight Howard wasn't going to re-sign, I think they'd give the deal the green light. I think the Lakers would have to be pragmatic about it. Just so much more value than they would otherwise get for Dwight.

The Clippers are harder to tell. Blake Griffin has been huge for them. Highly marketable. Brings in a lot money. You could easily see Donald Sterling being unwilling to part with Griffin for anyone short of LeBron or Durant.

Then again, maybe Sterling likes the idea of sticking one to the Lakers in a very public fashion. Stealing their most prized player from them. The best center in the league and a guy who recently enough and may soon again be considered the best big man in the league. Market CP3-Dwight as the new Magic-Kareem / West-Chamberlain in LA only now they play for the Clippers instead of the famed Lakers. Maybe the idea of that has enough temptation to get Sterling to part ways with Griffin if CP3 is pushing the trade idea.

I would love this also & I believe the Clips would sacrifice Paul for Doc, PP, KG & Rondo. But the key would be how to fit all that contract into the Clips without them going over & how would we get enough cap space to sign both & by not taking any bad Clip contracts in return. Would need a 3rd team with cap space take D. Jordan & Butler & we would have to give them Clips 2 1st rounders & probably 1 of our own. Then after that would be trying to entice CP3 & Howard to want to play in Boston. Danny would have to be at his best but its a championship quality roster if he could pull it off.

Josh Smith and Jeff Teague is probably almost as good as Blake Griffin and Eric Bledsoe (though I don't think the Lakers can trade for Smith and Teague as they are free agents and it would have to be a sign and trade).
