How about a Larry Bird return?

Is it really that crazy?  The franchise is headed towards turmoil. Ainge doesn't look like the man for the job anymore.  If  Larry is considering becoming GM of Sacramento, why wouldn't he consider becoming GM/president here?  Maybe Doc would stay?   Or maybe  Larry could feel compelled to coach again as well? Or am I completely insane?

I won't be surprised if Bird wants to be the Celtics' GM. It's up to Wyc.

Danny got Rivers to sign a contract,   a good one in my opinion for Doc. 

That said,   something still isn't right..........the Celtics doesn't seem to be a happy ship .......I think it is a bad relationship has evolved with Danny and his players and this has spilled over to Doc.


Wyc.....should fire Danny and bring in Larry ......and let Larry right the ship with a proper coach he likes

Of course! Let's move forward by going back into the past! Reinvigorate the team with new blood that is actually old blood! Go so retro we hit the future!


Has there ever been any inclination from Larry Bird that he has any interest at all in working with the Celtics? Or that the Celtics are willing to pay him 5 million and give him a piece of the team? Or that he's any healthier than he was when he left his Indiana front office job, a job that, from all reports, is located much closer to where he wants to be?

Say what you will about Larry, but he has a proven track record as a coach and as an executive.  I think it's time to right the wrong the Celtics organization made in failing to reach out to him before we hired the useless Rick Pitino.  No one was complaining about going back into history when Danny was hired.  Why would that be a negative thing about hiring Larry? If anything, Bird is a more qualified candidate now than Ainge was when he was hired.
