Trade Pierce TWICE?

Is this a possible trade scenario/option legally under the CBA rules and also something that teams would consider?

The crux of the idea is this: we essentially trade Paul Pierce TWICE.

With the rumors of KG to the Clippers still persisting and now talk of Doc's interest in coaching there, Paul Pierce would most likely be interested in/want to follow them to LAC if such moves ever took place.

Would it be possible to work out a handshake deal between 3 teams where Pierce is sent to a team that agrees to waive him for the cap savings (10m), Pierce agrees to sign with LAC as a FA for minimal dollars (he still gets 5m from his buyout) and LAC agrees to a trade with Boston for KG that sends back enough talent as if they were trading for KG, PP and Doc.

So basically we trade Pierce once to a team in need of cap room and additionally we essentially trade him again along with KG to LAC and Doc follows.

We could most likely get a pick or a young asset for Pierce from a team looking for cap room and then LAC could send us Bledsoe, Jordan and a future first in return for getting KG, Pierce at a huge discount and Doc.

I'm not the biggest fan of Bledsoe or Jordan (I'd rather keep Rondo than bring in Bledsoe and Jordan is a liability since he can't play in the 4th quarter), but I'm sure we could find another team or two interested in them in exchange for other young pieces/picks.

I'm not sure if this is even possible, it makes sense logically, but there may be a rule against such collusion. But the possibility of being able to get that kind of return for our two aging stars seems like an amazing opportunity to me.

They're all with different moving parts, but what I really want to know is:

1) Is it actually allowed under the CBA? (I don't know of any rule that would preclude it, but it seems like some pretty heavy collusion that might not be legal)

2) Is it a realistic possibility given the number of moving parts? (getting the players and teams to agree and then working out trades for everyone involved)

If its legal and actually possible, I'd say its our best option if we go down the blow-it up route. And its doing right by PP and KG since they get to stay together (Doc too) and go to a contender.

No I'm not interested in Bledsoe or Jordan really, but I don't want to tank for a shot at Wiggins or Parker either. The lottery is too random for tanking to be an effective strategy and with Rondo/Green/Bradley/Sully and whoever else we end up with we aren't going to even be bad enough to have a real high percentage shot at it anyway.

I'd rather get them and package them for another piece (ideally DMC) or move them individually for guys who better fit our needs.

The point is that if this is an option I can't think of a better way of acquiring young assets for our aging (ancient is more accurate) veterans.

I think they are pieces that could be moved.   Assets and we just need a coach that will lose to have the best shot at the lottery.

I think Bledsoe would surprise people.   Yes, the lottery is random, and tanking is not a given.   But look at how many teams mire in mediocrity with mid lotto picks.

If I were trying to cook up a single Clippers scenario, it would probably go something like this:

Bledsoe, Jordan, #1st rounder, Willie Green (small salary to make the numbers work)
FOR
Garnett, Lee

We give them permission to talk to Doc without compensation (really it was the 1st rounder), and we let Pierce determine his own fate (we'll buy him out if he wants us to).

I don't love Jordan, but his contract is a year shorter than Lee's and won't really rock the salary cap boat. We get a look at 3 young guys in exchange for our coach (who is leaving if he wants anyway) and Garnett who may not play another 100 games in the league. Lee could be useful to them and isn't really a part of the future for us - there will always be MLE type players available to contenders when we get back to that level.

No "guys" were mentioned. The only ones put out there were Jordan and Bledsoe and I said I'd prefer to trade them to 3rd parties, therefore there were actually no suggestions for people to be coming in to the C's. Do people actually read posts anymore on celticsblog?

Yeah a lot of teams mire in mediocrity with mid-lotto picks, but theres a good chance we end being up one of those teams if we don't try something. Theres still a good bit of young talent on our roster even without KG and PP. I'd rather take a shot at going after young proven guys in the NBA for a speedy rebuild than hope to get lucky in the draft.
