  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
I would say Davis. He already has very good handles, and was a very solid PG until he had the growth spurt. Between the two there is definitely more potentiality with Cousins to be the best Center ever, but while Cousins has more potential. I see Davis as one of the best PF/C athletically, and talent wise. Can fast break easily, block just as well, has lankier arms, and has a capacity to learn quicker.

This is just wishful thinking. If we had either one of them, Davis especially that we'd be a contending team in 1-2 years, not to mention defensively one of the best.

Which player would you take? And please don't say Davis only plays PF. I remember him playing C, and I don't see why he won't be able to if he bulks up a little bit.

A trio of Davis, Green and Rondo would be crazy too. A team full of players with spaghetti arms lol.

Davis since he's not a headcase.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I think every person on here would say Davis...although I see why Cousins would make a better 'center' who could anchor your offense/defense.

The other key piece is that if we wanted Cousins, we could probably attain him with a trade surrounding Rondo, whereas, Davis is almost completely untouchable. Would Rondo, Green, Sully, and Bradley get it done? Possibly.

All this being said, I hope we can get Cousins...especially if we didn't have to give up Rondo; however, a Rondo for DMC/Evans swap would be very dealable to me.

Davis is a better prospect with a better attitude and higher potential.  I don't really see the comparison here.  30 GMs would take Davis over Cousins for the future.

I'd take Cousins.

Known > unknown.

I'd take Cousins.

Known > unknown.

Using the same logic, I take Davis over Cousins.

What we know about Cousins is that he is a complete headcase, incredibly low BBIQ, inefficient volume shooter, turnover prone, and a poor defender. What we know about Davis is that he is a good defender who is efficient and intelligent, if low volume, on offense.

The only argument you can make vis-a-vis Cousins is that he has the POTENTIAL to be great. He has not shown the ability to be consistently even above average so far in his career.

Davis, easy.

-Consensus #1 in his draft vs #5
-Projects as elite defensively; no reason to change that based on his one NBA year.
-Great personality vs "misunderstood on bad team" at BEST.
-20 vs 22 y.o.
-3 years of rookie scale left vs 1 year
-PER of 21.8 as rookie vs 20.21 as 3rd year.
-Cousins improved from year 1 to 2 but plateaued in year 3 at about the same level as Davis in year 1.

Now, I actually like Cousins and think he's worth a gamble. Great size, great rebounding, and potentially could be reigned in on offense to become more efficient/exploit his advantages. Potentially a very good buy-low candidate. But you take Davis if given the choice.

Davis by land slide.

Even if he is never better than an average offensive player his defence will make him a top 5 PF when in his prime.

Cousins has alot of offensive potential but doesnt have the ceiling Davis has.

Davis was a rookie, is two years younger, is already more efficient, and is already a better defender.

Yeah, shooting percentage becomes very important. Cousins is KNOWN at this time to consistently be very below par for a big.

I have seen them both I would take Davis.   His college season was nothing short of Russellesgue.

Davis! But only if he agrees to pluck that thing! That's just creepy looking.
