Tony Parker may not play in game 4 b/c of his right hammy. Going to have MRI today. This may cost the Spurs the championship. Heat are getting lucky again!

It's unfair to question another man's pain.

That said, I guarantee Rondo would be playing in Game 4.

I'm just hoping it's nothing serious. The Spurs did GREAT last night without having Parker have a major impact, but that's not going to continue. They need him out there.

ugh, this was not what I was hoping to hear this morning.

Man up, shoot up TP. You can heal in the off season
Back to wanting Joe fired.

I sort of feel that your statement is questioning the man's pain (in that it is just pain, and not actually lowering his capacity to play well).

Players have different pain tolerances and different priorities.

Rondo played with a torn ACL and a recently dislocated elbow.  I tip my hat to him in that regard.  I wish Parker's answer had been "of course I'm going to play in Game 4".

A couple of things:

a) They won by more than 30 points when Tony Parker was not at 100%. (6 pts 8 assists in 27 minutes)

b) Parker's had issues with his legs earlier this post-season and then come back and been more than fine a couple days later.  I'm pretty confident he'll be playing in Game 4, though he may not be 100%.

Unless they say for sure he's going to be out, I tend to assume with this sort of thing that the player will be out there.

Even if Parker is not 100% for the rest of the series, I don't think that's necessarily insurmountable, so long as Kawhi Leonard continues to stymie James, Wade and Bosh continue to be up and down at best, and Danny Green / Gary Neal / Matt Bonner etc are hitting threes.

They'll need Manu to step up and play more minutes as a ball-handler and distributor, though.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I'm sure he'll try to warm it up and go unless the MRI reveals something catastrophic.

It really sucks, such a fun series to watch. I'd hate for the Spurs chances to be diminished by having to play Neal/Joseph at PG if Park can't go at all.

I'd be shocked if Parker doesn't play in Game 4.

Quote
Tony Parker suffered a hamstring injury in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday and his status is uncertain for Game 4 on Thursday.

Parker, who could not remember which play he hurt the hamstring, will undergo an MRI on Wednesday.

“Hopefully it’s nothing big and it’s just a cramping, or got tight on me,” said Parker, who returned briefly in the fourth after the injury. “It was just a weird feeling. The doctor said I was OK…and we were up big so Pop didn’t want to take a risk. We will see [Wednesday].”

Parker scored just six points in Game 4, but the San Antonio Spurs blew out the Miami Heat 113-77.

Parker reported no pain after the game.

The underlined parts of the quote encourage me. If he had no pain after the game, it's highly unlikely that anything serious is there. They're just being cautionary.

Parker's statement doesn't suggest it's time to jump off the bridge yet.  I'd be surprised if he doesn't play

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
There's no way he's missing game four. This is pretty commonplace nowadays, how many times has Dwyane Wade been a game time decision, only to miraculously recover and play through insurmountable pain just in the nick of time.

They should open up a Biogenesis in San Antonio.  Then, he'd be back in time and healthier than ever.
