I mean its becoming ridiculous. A coach that attends workout sessions, yet when reporters ask if he is coming back, states "i rather not comment". Buddy you signed a contract, for so many years. There is no opt out clause or some crap. Even though i want to be a little lenient with KG bc he is roughed up due to his age,  he also signed a three year deal and should honor his contract also.

And now Rondo, with the whole "i'm difficult to coach, and the only guy pretty much i want to play for is Doc".  Its nice that all of these guys have a pact or something but they have to also realize that this is business/pro sports.

Pierce can't be back next year. He won't take a lesser role or money , but can't play the role of team mvp. If he moves on to another team, he will be coming into new territory and won't have to be the man.

I still think whatever happens in the end, without rivers, or even rondo, KG is coming back. The guy was loyal to a dead end in Minny, and would of stayed until the bitter end probably.  But again going back to Rondo, i just find it crazy and inflexible the only guy he can be coached/play for is Rivers. It's like he knows if Rivers is back , PP and KG will be back also.

I'm not against guys not wanting to fully rebuild. Bc they have paid their dues etc. But the actions/words of all of these guys is that, this team otherwise is not good enough to do anything. Its an insult in a way.

I hope Danny decides soon what he is going to do, instead of dragging this nonsense for much longer. Buyout/trade Pierce and lets see what happens. If everyone starts to complain, get a new coach come draft day, and trade Rondo for the best that you can get.

KG has also said numerous times that he'd only play for Doc, so your whole attempt to throw Rondo under the bus is a fail.

Crazy how a show of loyalty from a player towards his coach can get so warped on this board.

Also, where did you get that Paul won't take a lesser role if asked? How did you become so familiar with Paul's line of thinking?

He never said only, but he said along the lines that he rather play for nobody else. Bc they won't get him. Bc he likes to argue or question plays frequently.

Even when he plays now, Doc has given up to coach Rondo, bc he doesn't want to go through an intense debate session during timeouts, instead of actually going through the timeout in relation to what is going on in the game so far. And that could be Doc's issue more than Rondos. The guy is a friend to these players intead of being the boss

Except you're taking what he said completely out of context:

Quote
"We're learning each other more and more each year." When asked if he was hard to coach, at least early in his career, Rondo said, "It's not that I'm hard to coach, it's just that I may challenge what you say. I know the game myself, I'm out there playing the game. So I may have saw something different versus what you saw from the sideline. I'm going to be respectable. I'm going to let the coach talk."

But why does he have to say this now?? Is he trying to send out some kind of message?

Nobody even asked him if he was hard to coach etc.

Uh, one of the interviewers did ask him about the stories of him being difficult to coach... They also asked him about his relationship with Doc. Have you actually seen the interview?

Glen is not increasing his love with loyal fans ,  he is seemingly wanting to jump ship......

rather have Hollins anyway or somebody who can actually coach......not a baby sitter

think Rondo will be traded for a big man or pick to rebuild , if Glenn bolts.

Glen stays , most likely so does Rondo.

Thats fine if he was asked. The bottom line is even with his message, if voluntarily does not want to play for anywhere else, Rivers or not, than i'll be the first one to admit i was wrong about his loyalty to the organization and to remaining excellent players left on the team

Exactly.

Rondo in no way said, "...and the only guy pretty much i want to play for is Doc."

All he said is there's no coach he'd rather play for ahead of his present coach.  Perfectly acceptable and correct response.  (And I suspect he means it.)

"So Doc, you coming back next year?"
"I don't know."

fanslation: he's a power-hungry loon! A disrespectful cretin! burn him! burn him!

"So Pop, how're you gonna play defense on LeBron James?"
"I can't tell you that."

fanslation: OhmigoodnessPopisjustsoDryILOVEIT!!!!

Point being, there's nothing wrong with not answering a question.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Rondo is loyal, simple as that. But if Doc go I suspect Danny to shop Rondo. But he won't get value from him so he will be traded later when he will show full recovery.

In a round about way, maybe.

I think the only reason Rivers leaves is if the Celtics decide to go the blow up route.

If the Celtics decide to go the blow up route, Rondo may be shipped out in that process.
