Joey Crawford, who six years ago had that spat with Duncan? And was suspended for it? I am willing to bit he's had a few Spurs games between yesterday and that game in Dallas. Just a crazy thought of mine.

Tim Duncan one of the Top-10 players of all time? That guy's mental game was compromised because one of three referees had thrown him out of a regular season game 6 years ago? And it took until late in the third quarter to come to fruition? Hmm, quite the theory.

And basketball is 50% mental? Are we just throwing out arbitrary numbers to help our flawed argument or is there some scientific Hollinger-esque analysis you can enlighten me on.

The NBA isn't fixed. The Heat deserved to win that game because they played better. Does basketball allow officiating to play a role in the game more than the other 3 major American sports? Probably, yes. But calling foul just because Joey Crawford officiated a game is, well, really misguided.

I think the reason that Joey Crawford got the gig is probably because he's one of the most experienced referees in the league.

If you think it was a masterful ploy by the evil David Stern to throw Tim Duncan off his game before the opening jump ball was even thrown, then, fantastic, have fun with that.

I don't believe last game was fixed. I don't care either way, honestly. But for those that completely discount the notion that games could (or, have been) rigged in some fashion, do you truly believe the Lakers-Kings Game 6 in 2002 was not rigged?

I've never heard someone's argument that it was not. But given the apparent extremists that deny even the possibility of rigging in the NBA, I'm sure some feel it was not. I'd be really interested in reading that argument.

I thought he called a fairly good game last night.  He's done about 1600 NBA games.  Sure, he's made a few bad calls over that time, but I don't see these games being "rigged." 

How does the "fixing" work, anyway?   Does Stern tell the lead official before each game who is supposed to win?  Or, do they just instinctively know based on their boss's tendencies? 

This is a serious question.  How calculated is it?  Is it on a game by game basis, or is it more just a general series type thing?  Are the players in on it?  Is the whole thing staged like wrestling?

I really want to know what you guys think.

The World Series was rigged in 1919.  Baseball has been fake ever since.

I'd suspect being a referee is like any other job... more often than not, whether you agree with it or not, you do what your boss wants and/or expects you to do.

I am being serious too. I really want to know what others think regarding my question above. I won't even counter, I just really want to know.

You'll notice that when Gary Neal came on Spoelstra told Chalmers to go at him, which he did very well. This finally created the spacing that the Heat were looking for for open three's which they started to hit with Mike Miller and Ray Allen on opposite sides. Horrible decision by Popovich to leave Neal in the game and very good move by Spoelstra to give Chalmers the green light( whilst surrounding Lebron and Chalmers with shooters).

Heat played better. A particular ref doesn't result in a difference of 25 points on the finals. You're choice to buy into the conspiracy stuff.  But there's only so much one ref can do lol.

I doubt Crawford's presence had an effect on why tha Spurs turned tha ball over way too many times and missed a bunch of shots. No matter who's reffing, tha Spurs still have a job to do. There were a couple of missed calls but tha turnovers and missed shots had more of an impact than Crawford.
