CP3 and D12. It was mentioned in the Herald, that CP3 didn't want to play in Boston. Howard it was more rumored, but let's be serious Boston was never on his list of places he wanted to be traded to while he was in Orlando. Btw the only reason Smith wanted to play here was because of Rondo but of course he would play here if another buddy of his was here.

Howard and Paul are each commanding around 16-18. Smith is commanding 13-15. At the lowest Paul (16) + Howard (16) + Smith (13) is 45 million. So you have 13 million dollars to fill out your roster and bring in at minimum 10 guys.

Your calculations are correct but the salary situation right now is almost the same: you have PP 15m+KG 12m + Rondo 11m=38 millions. So is not a big difference...

It is a big difference because we could go over the cap to surround them with quality support. We wouldn't be able to in the case of Howard, Paul, and Smith.

More importantly it would be really hard to clear all that cap space because of the Bass, Lee, and Terry contracts.

Take out rondo, pierce and kg; that's still 34 million left in salaries. Cap is 58M so we'll have 24M to spend. That's enough for 1 max free agent, not THREE.

Almost impossible that you can get rid of all the above four players without taking on salary.

Pierce would still have five on the books. KG would likely be a buyout and have some money on the books. The cap is at 58 million. At best we would have 53 million in cap space with just Pierce's 5 million.

The only way this happens is if there has already been an agreement in place, like in Miami, for all three to join forces in Boston.
