Dont mean to burst your bubble but did you see lebrons stats....... 18/18/10 in a game where the highest scorer had 21....

so yes they stopped lebron from going HAM on points. But that is a bloody outrageous stat line in finals.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Kawhi Leonard.

I don't believe he'll ever be a star, but he's an elite 3 and D role player who is a fantastic rebounder for his size.

Kind of like a less athletic Shawn Marion who can shoot corner 3s at a really high percentage.

I'm under the impression Leonard is more athletic.

Marion was one of the more explosive dunkers this league has ever seen. Saying Kawhi is more athletic than him is quite a stretch.

EDIT: Also, I checked and Leonard had a 32 inch vertical (7th worst in the draft) at draft time.
I like Marcus Smart

TP for beating me to the punch about Marion. I was even going to post the same video. Marion had a 40-inch vertical back in his day.

Maybe it's because Marion never does anything too flashy (he always goes for that two hander), which is why Leonard's dunks are more my flavor of eye candy.

Maybe it's just that I like the way Leonard cocks his arm back and powers it down.

Twice I've seen Leonard dunk and twice he's kind of wow'd me.

Draftexpress's description of Jeff Withey might be what I'm looking for: "quick off his feet" is Kawhi Leonard.

It was more of a team defense. Spurs are pretty big inside. They packed it in and rotated great. But yes, Leonard did a good job.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Erm he went ape...
He was trying to find Wade and Bosh. Triple double with 18 rebounds lol.
Kwahi didn't do nuthin.

Spurs were very good today.  Just played better. Lebron needs to take control late..
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

was it kawhi leonard? if so that is impressive for a sophomore.

Yeah pretty much, his 2 fouls was not even on LeBron.

Kawhi is gonna be a great player and the future of the Spurs.

It seems like elite SF's are on the rise.

LeBron
Durant
Rudy Gay
Paul George
Jeff Green
Kawhi Leonard

Harrison Barnes

Didnt lebron shoot under 50% from the field?  I would say keeping lebron to 7 made baskets is making a big impact towards winnin the game.  Normally 7 baskets is one of lebrons better quarters.

I'd just like to point out that as a viewing audience we've officially decided a "mundane-to-meh" LeBron game is an 18/18/10 on 7-16 FG and 3-4 FT.

I absolutely agree with the assessment, by the way. It just speaks to how accustomed we've become to how absurdly high his level has been over the last couple years.

I thought that it were the Spurs' collaborated efforts that contained Lebron.

This. It was the defensive scheme.

While it is true that leonard did an excellent job guarding lebron the spurs also did a great job as a team shutting down the driving lanes on lebron every time he tried to pick and roll with someone he was met with a double team.  The real reason the pacers lost is because they still aren't mentally tough enough as a team to beat a team like the heat.  But the spurs will not beat themselves.  Oh and lebron doesn't have any friends on the spurs.  So it isn't going to be a cake walk for him in this series.

nice point.

The rebounds and assists are eye-catching.  it's the points where he looks like he had the off night.  the fact he only took 16 shots and 4 FTs is what I find most astonishing.

Ive been thinking about it and I think I would have found a 35 pt, 8 rb, 8assist game more impressive he was more efficient from floor.

The rebounds don't impress me with the way the heat have rebounded all year, somebody has to get them.  I mean Ray lead the team in rebounding in a game last series right?

Is it just me or does anyone else think that Chris Paul and Dirk would not be a good pairing together?  Yeah, I get that Dirk can space the floor for Paul, but you can find a whole lot of 4's in the league who can shoot open jumpers and play much better defense for wayyy less money.

Dirk gets paid what he does because he's able to score efficiently in isolation offense.  That would not play to CP's strengths at all.

It would, however, play to Dwight Howard's strengths.  But I don't see Dwight coming without Paul because of Dirk's age.
