  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
For a long time I have been of the mind that if Doc leaves we will replace him with someone not as good. If Doc leaves now I think we could replace him with Karl and not miss a beat.

If the Clippers are smart they will bring him in to coach their team. But he might be too expensive for them.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

8 first round exits in his 9 years there. That's what did him in.

This is crazy to me... who is this elite coach they think they can get?

I am pretty sure Karl and PP do not see eye to eye.  George Karl misused Paul in a world championship many years back.  Karl also sat Paul's friend Baron Davis preferring Andre Miller's half court play. The U.S. lost.

Letting your GM and Coach go like this would have me furious if I were a Nuggets fan.

The Woj justification was that with their roster they think they can attract an elite coach.

1) Didn't your GM compile this roster?

2) Who is this elite coach?

Tell me this isn't a Phil Jackson chase.  And otherwise, who?  Stan Van Gundy?  Is he better than Karl?

Denver plans to reach out for permission to speak to Brian Shaw and Lionel Hollins soon, league source tells Y! Sports.

Oh okay ELITE COACHES.  Makes total sense now.   ::)

If there is no chemistry between players and coach, it's easier to part with the coach. However we will never know the real reason. You don't fire the COY without a very good reason. I hope Danny call him to stay on standby in case doc decide to not continu coaching.

Agreed.  Top flight GM, top flight coach, and you let 'em both go.

Things like this are what keep certain franchises from having sustained success.

Vinny Del Negro won 56 games.  Do you think it is a mistake for the Clippers to say goodbye to him?

The Nuggets roster is built for Karl's Doug Moe-influenced system.  Bringing in a different coach will probably require some personnel moves.
