Mahinmi had a 2.72 Efficiency Rating for the playoffs and Terry was a +11.00!!!!!

P.S. This is NOT as lopsided as many think.  In fact, it might be lopsided against us:-))))

Ok firstly he obviously isn't as bad as that efficiency rating suggests, otherwise you wouldn't be suggesting a trade for him.

Secondly you are ignoring several key factors: age, size, potential and salary.

Mahinmi is 26, just shy of 7 feet (great size and length, moves decently for a big man), he has plenty of room to improve especially learning from Hibbert (he is already getting very good at being a rim protector and going straight up a la Hibbert to avoid fouls) and he is signed to a reasonable 4m per year contract.

Terry on the other hand is 35, getting slower and clearly on a decline (although he probably has something left in the tank), and making 5m a year for the next two (which they'd have to eat if he completely falls off).

Now I'm not saying Mahinmi is anything special, but he has the tools, why move that for Terry coming off of a bad year? Especially when you have Danny Granger to trade or slot in as your 6th man.

It doesn't make sense for Indy and even if they decided to move him they could get a better return elsewhere.

I'd be all over this, but I think it would have to be Lee instead of Terry for the Pacers to consider it.

Could be broaden this to Fab and Terry for Mahinmi and Hansbrough??  We could give them a future second rounder??

Smitty77

The first trade is very interesting and could be a possiblity but there's no way they trade Hansborough for that.  Not even a remote chance there...

Sadly that's pretty much a bargain for a decent backup center who isn't on a rookie contract.
