  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Yup. While he may not be 1st ballot, he'll get in.

Ralph Sampson got in, and I think Hill has had a better career than him.

It's a darn shame the guy couldn't stay healthy or we wouldn't even be asking this question. But I think what he did at Duke will push him over the top.
Peace through Tyranny

2  NCAA Rings, 3 championship games in college plus a long fairly productive pro career. Absolute Shoe in.

Not for me. Grant Hill didn't achieve enough in the NBA. Not enough team success. Never got past the first round until late in his career at Phoenix when he was a role player.

To those who say no because he hasn't dominated enough - remember that Ralph Sampson is in the NBA. Ralph only had a handful of elite seasons before getting injured and declining substantially.

Hill's career has been better than Sampson's.

Sampson is in the Hall of Fame.

He will get in, and it could be 1st Ballot.

What KC and Onslaught said (Successful College Career), a productive pro career, and he's been active in his community.

Plus, his wife, Mrs Tamia Hill, should get him in as a bonus:

A talented Family all-around.

He'd get my vote as 1st Ballot.

It's called The BasketBall HOF, not the NBA Hall of Fame.

Off-Topic, but this is why players like Manu Ginobili will get in, for sure. His success with his Argentinan Team plus his rings with the Spurs will get him in.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Absolutely.

I for one think that he's first ballot, regardless ofnhow short his HOF resume is. The man is an absolute face of the NBA. Back in the 90's he's being talked about as one of the best. He had a great impact on the game. I wanted to wear Fila's because of him.

His short but great career years and the impact he had globally should be enough to putbhim in. I think he can be first ballot, but even if he's not, he'll make it.

Just like Penny should, VC, Iverson amd T-Mac.

His professional career didn't quite go as far as it should've. His ceiling was much higher.  Injuries played a big role in it.  His first 6 seasons or so were pretty incredible, though.

He had a heckuva career with Duke and played a prominent role in 2 national tiles and leading Duke to a third title game appearance.  Also won a gold medal with the '96 Olympic team.

My hunch is that he'll make the hall of fame.  I don't think he'll be first ballot, though.

No.

The HOF of fame is about what you did on the court not what could have been.  He will probably get in, sympathy is a powerful emotion.

None of those 3 deserve it imo.
