idea Noel to Celtics

This is more like a wish  but do you think is possible for us to land the number 1 pick?

Cleveland are open to listen offers and Noel loves the Celtics. How good would that be :D .

My idea was if we offer Green,Melo,Sullinger + 16th for 1st pick. Maybe crazy to trade the first pick but i think this is good trade for both. Why?

- K.Irving wants to win and with Noel they will have 5 rookies or second year players as starters. Irving, Waiters,Zeller,Noel,Thompson are not good enough for more than 35 wins. They will want Irving sattisfied.

-They won't select McLemore because of Waiters, they won't select Porter because he is not 1st pick material so they have to select Noel who is great defensive player but not good enough in offense to help them win right away.

-They need SF. J.Green will score 18ppg there and he will be on 8.7m deal. Irving,Waiters,Green - fast and good shooting trio.

-Sullinger is from Ohio, i think they like him plus he has potential. Melo could be add to the deal or Lee or someone else plus they will get 16th pick.

-CLE lineup:

 C Varejao,Zeller
 PF Thompson,Sullinger
 SF Green,Gee
 SG Waiters,Elington
 PG Irving,16th pick,19th pick

With the expierce of Varejao and Green plus the greatness of Irving plus talent of Waiters they might get playoff in the weak eastern conference. They also have salary cap so they can add another solid player.

Probably this will never happen but on paper looks good :)

Probably a reason no one has responded as this is a terrible idea. We are unloading the farm for a player that is coming off of an ACL and has never played a game in the NBA. Of course if there was a Lebron in this draft and they offered the number 1, then you do this. But remember, there's a reason they are offering the number 1 up. Because there is no lebrons in this draft

Cavs say no. If we want the first pick it would probably have to be a 3 team deal. Only one I could think of would be:

CLE sends: 1st pick
CLE gets: Mo Harkless, 2nd overall pick (Otto Porter)

ORL sends: 2nd pick, Mo Harkless, Jameer Nelson
ORL gets: Rondo (absorbed with DH12 TE), Green

BOS sends: Rondo, Green
BOS gets: 1st overall pick, Jameer

Plus, trading for Noel is an all out rebuild, why get rid of Sullinger who's game would complement Noel perfectly? If its a rebuilding trade then Sully/AB should be the only ones considered to stay. Also an AB/Sully/Noel core would have a really good chance of adding Parker/Wiggins. I can't see them winning a lot of games, especially with Noel sidelined for almost half the season.

Thats WAY to expensive for a guy that isn't proven. Green is proven and gettig better. Sully was coming into his own. Noel is good, he might only be a rich mans DeAndre Jordan, but nothing has shown that hes the next Shaq,Ewing,Olajuwon. Green and Sully might be better and give more to the team than Noel for the next two or 3 seasons.

He wants to play for Boston after his rookie contract is done he can come over and play as long as he doesn't become greedy and just want more money.

Now if we were talking about next years draft and getting Wiggins, now thats worth making a move like that.

My son told me he had heard this very thing somewhere on Xbox 360 land.   He stated it was a Celtic Facebook page.   I looked and could find nothing so I am assuming it is a fan page.

I know we did speak to Noel, who is out of our range, at the Combine.

Our biggest problem in the playoffs was scoring, as well as ball handling. Noel isn't an offensive force - he may even be a liability. We would be horrid at offense with him and without Rondo/Green.

I guess you want to trade for a 1st pick and tank the season, get another high draft pick and build with those guys to play with Green and Rondo....nope. Still don't like it.

im a huge Kentucky fan but I would not select Noel..he has no offensive game and this is his 2nd knee surgery already. He had one while a sophmore in HS

That's why it's a rebuilding trade. Can't win if you can't score, can't win if you want a shot at Wiggins & Parker. No one is trading their high lottery pick in that draft, so the only way to get in is to suck. 2014 is the year to rebuild, not to get another 15-20 pick.

I don't see how this helps tha Celtics at all. Unless Danny is gunning for Wiggins in tha next draft, I don't see why he would do this. A full rebuild would have to take place for any part of this idea to make sense. But minus that - this idea is more about helping Cleveland and sending Sully back to Ohio. You sure you aren't a Cavs fan? You never did get to how this would be good for tha C's. Danny would be giving up a lot of talent and our future for someone that won't even play until December. We lose Green - whose had a great comeback season and is improving. We lose Sully - who was finding his niche, and is arguably our best rebounder and banger down low. And a young 7 footer in Melo who could become (I know it's a stretch) our Roy Hibbert.

Not trying to drop a duece on your idea but tha C's would be giving up way too much for one guy that isn't proven.

The reason i post this idea is because is makes a little sense after all.

-Some of you suggested that we would be giving up to much. If we not include Sullinger would you do it? Cavs know that this draft is weak and that Noel doesn't have LeBron potential. In other thread people were discusing how little value 16th or 19th pick on this draft have. So 1st pick will have less value and Cavs would like SF in Green who can score 18ppg. They might accept, who knows.

-Why for us and what i was thinking to achieve with this idea?

First of all if we trade Green we will not tank. Only way to look for a high pick in 2014 is to trade Rondo. No other way. If KG and PP retire and Rondo is still on the team we will still be a good enough team and we will not get Wiggins. No team will trade high picks in 2014 so we must trade Rondo to hope for Wiggins and than wait few years for him to be star. So we will need 5+ years for that kind of rebuild.

 My idea was to make faster rebuild. Get Noel to play one season with KG and improve. Keep Rondo, Bradley and in 2014 when KG and PP are of the books we look for a good player, and there will be good free agents. So 2014 , a lot of free cap, Rondo,Bradley,Noel maybe Sullinger signed. We add a max player or near max player and make much faster rebuild. That was my idea, i'm not GM and maybe my idea suck but to me it makes a little sense for Cle and Bos

From the Celtics point of view that would be unbelievably stupid.  I wouldn't even trade Rondo straight up for that.  Noel is not worth anything close to that.  He's barely over 200 pounds with no offensive game really and has now had 2 knee injuries.  I would run from anything close to that...

I don't see it happening.  Noel is a great fit for the Cavs.  They can afford to lose for another season to improve their draft chances in 2014.  They also will have an excellent foundation for LeBron to consider joining.

Yeah that makes sense to me as well.  You'd have to give up Rondo to get the #1.

At 206lbs, it is more likely he gets hurt than contributes anyways.
