Or Terry/Bass. Obviously, a few of these deals are very raw and would require the Celtics adding additional assets such as picks or another player, but this is basically me opening it up for discussion and me thinking out loud.

A playoff team that needs to bolster it's bench a little or a young team on the come up looking to add a couple useful veterans?

1) Lee/Bass for Emeka Okafor

2) Lee/Bass for Pau Gasol

3) Lee/Bass for Carlos Boozer

4) Lee/Bass for Anderson Varejao

5) Lee/Bass for Ian Mahinmi/filler

6) Lee/Bass for Kosta Koufos/filler

7) Lee/Bass for Timofey Mosgov/filler

8 ) Lee/Bass for David Lee

9) Lee/Bass for Thomas Robinson

10) Lee/Bass for Ed Davis/filler

11) Lee/Bass for Derrick Williams/filler

12) Lee/Bass for Robin Lopez

13) Lee/Bass for Jason Smith

14) Lee/Bass for Kendrick Perkins

15) Lee/Bass for Lous Scola

16) Lee/Bass for Kris Humphries

17) Lee/Bass for Jason Thompsan

18) Lee/Bass for Chuck Hayes

19) Lee/Bass for Dujuan Blair

20) Lee/Bass for Tiago Splitter

21) Lee/Bass for Anthony Randolph

Feel free to add!

I see four probable options = Timofey Mozgov. Luis Scola. Chuck Hayes. Anthony Randolph.

I agree out of that list those are probably the 4 most likely names, but I'm not interested at all in Chuck Hayes and still not sold on Scola in terms of fit.

I do however like Mozgov as a solution and I have always been extremely high on Anthony Randolph who I think is in the same mold as KG (not anywhere near the same talent but definitely same lengthy style).

think the Nuggets make a lot of sense as a trade partner. Bass fits their style of play very well and provides floor spacing for their bigs as well as shooting.Lee would really fill out their guard rotation especially if they move Andre Miller who Nuggets fans have long complained about.

Maybe if some of these teams draft bigs kinda high you'd have a shot

I like Lee for Ed Davis. Boston might have to throw something else in that package, but something tells me Memphis may be looking for some perimeter help.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Washington got Emeka for peanuts, obviously just to take on his contract. I have always been a fan of his and would like him on the Celtics if we run it back again for another year or two.

If we are rebuilding, we should hang on to Lee and see if we can get a player like Mozgov for Bass...

Yea I think Mosgov works and Denver is likely just going to let them walk. Randolph is also intriguing and on a very reasonable contract so it's a low risk financially.

Chuck Hayes is another under sized four.   You think some would learn that height matters in the low post.

Ian Mahinmi!

Not realistic. He is a solid rotational big that could develop into more and they just signed him last offseason to a reasonable contract.

I like Lee for Ed Davis. Boston might have to throw something else in that package, but something tells me Memphis may be looking for some perimeter help.

I think Memphis is looking for some perimeter help, but isn't Davis basically the main piece they got in return for Gay (other than cap space)? I can't imagine they are going to turn around and trade him for Bass and Lee after the year those two had.

If there is any chance Washington decides they'd rather have Bass and Lee for Okafor I'd jump all over that just as a swing for the fences move. Either he reestablishes himself alongside KG or ends up being a valuable expiring deal next year. But I can't help but think they'd want more for him despite his contract.

in a nutshell, everyone on that list that would actually help can't be had for Bass and Lee/JET.  Everyone that you could get for Bass and Lee/JET wouldn't be enough to help much and would be overpaying for that player.

Josh Smith, Al Jeff and Millsap can force their way into Boston, if they want.

Point being, guys -- nobody really wants Lee and Bass, especially packaged together.  They're overpaid for their recent production.  We're only going to get back players that other teams don't really want, either.

Lee+Bass+Terry  (Ham Sandwhich with Cheese?)

for

A soggy Filet Sandwhich?   Amare?

No one wants Amare just like no one wants Lee/Bass.   But!  Amare could at least be a backup center, even if he only plays in half the games.
