Would the Kings be willing to consider something like this?

Cousins (and maybe a filler?) to Boston for Bradley, Sully, Melo, Crawford and the 16th pick

That is a lot of our young core....

Bradley/Melo/16th pick and Melo should possibly do it... No need to add Sully, not to mention there's another thread with pretty much the similar trade, so this thread is null and void.

I'm afraid if Rondo or Green aren't involved, it is going to take most of our best trade assets to get the deal done. We may be able to keep Fab and/or Crawford, but Avery, Sully, and #16 is where talks begin, and that is only if the Kings have any interest in those players...and that is a big 'if'.

In this scenario, we still hold on to Lee and Williams [along with Rondo and Green] to form a pretty strong core. I think we definitely would need to move Pierce and KG to acquire younger assets and go into full rebuilding mode...and it seems like a decent direction in which to go.

I would do that deal depending on who the salary filler was. I'm pretty sure they would want us to take one of their bigger contracts off their hands if they moved Cousins.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

My apologies…I am new to the forum and I wasn’t aware that there's another thread with pretty much a similar trade. If you believe that we can pull this off without including Sully in the deal that’s even better. To my way of thinking, if the Kings asked for all 4 players plus the pick I’d sign on without any hesitation. In Cousins we get a 23-year-old all star caliber big man so it’s worth the risk to part ways with our young core.

If we manage to acquire Cousins then there is no need whatsoever to go into rebuilding mode. We keep Pierce and KG and run it back one more time hoping for the best

Rondo, T-Will
Lee, Terry
Green, Pierce (6th man of the year candidate 8))
KG, Bass, Shavlik
Cousins

KG, Cousins would probably form the best frontcourt in the league.

Thanks for the welcome! I like Sully too but I like PP and KG even more and I’d be devastated to see them walk away. Perhaps this is one way to ensure that they will both retire in Boston while they also get a legitimate chance to fight for a second ring

The C's need to fill that one gap a big man who can score 18+ pts and post low and rebound. Cousins gives us that edge to return to the finals. Way I see it we have some people that can be taken off the roll.

Trade Bass, Melo for cousins, 2013 1st round pick, 2014 second round (we'll have two in 2014)

Keep Paul Pierce work on options to spread his salary over 3 yrs.

Starters:
Garnett
Cousins
Peirce
Rondo
Avery

I really like Bass god and Fab but I do this trade if Kings do.

I don't see the Kings doing a deal for Cousins that doesn't involve us shipping out Green or Rondo. I don't know how they could sell it to their fans firstly and I just can't imagine that they couldn't get more for him from other teams.

Forget Melo or Crawford, who don't have value, and the trades proposed are for Bradley or Bass plus the C's 2013 pick for Cousins?

I have a very hard time believing that's the best the Kings could get for Cousins, goofball though he may be.

I would imagine it would have to be a trade along the lines of

Bos sends: Green,Sully,Bradley and #16
Sac sends: Salmons and cousins and 2nd rd pick

It's a tough call , but I probably do the deal . Always choose the big all-star caliber big man in a deal like this.

Roster

Pg: Rondo     / Vet Min
SG: Lee       / Terry
SF: PP        / Salmons
PF: Cousins   / Bass
 C: KG        / Melo?

Yeah I have this thought too. If the best we can offer is Bass, Melo, and mid first round pick this year and next year, then we aren't getting a player like Cousins.

I'd be hard pressed to pull the trigger on a deal a deal that includes Sully, Bradley, Green and #16. If we could keep one of Sully or the #16 pick then I'd probably pull the trigger (preferably keeping Sully rather than the pick).

As much talent as Cousins has and as much as I think he is going to be an extremely special player in coming years he still comes with some significant risk given that no team in their right mind would be moving a player of his caliber if it weren't for some SERIOUS character issues.

I'm not sure I'm ready to empty the cupboard for a guy who could end up being a head case for his entire career.

I really do like Cousins, but there's no way I would part with Green, Sully or Bradley for him. Why not? Bradley...haven't we learned from the TA loss how valuable great defenders are? PLUS he's still a pup! Green...he WILL be coming into his own in the next 2 yrs and with his scoring ability AND defense, again you just don't trade such valuable assets for a dude with talent and bad everything else. Sully...young, very skilled and still learning the game. I hated when we gave up Al, but know we needed KG to get us to that next level. KG was well established and his character and presence were never in question, as is Cousins. I'd hate to see them give up on Sully to be a part of bringing this dude in.  Cousins is drama. He strikes me as one that if he doesn't win he will pout, become a problem then we have Dwightmare Pt. 2 on our hands. If all you are looking for is a talented big then wait it out and get a very serviceable big who can fit along with these three and Rondo. THAT'S what I would do. Again, love the big fellas skillset but I'm tired of regretting our "throwaways" that end up totally significant on other ball clubs. Give the youngins time to develop with each other and cross our fingers that Melo will turn into that very servicable big we were looking for.
