Al jefferson that is. And then with the loss of AB and Terry draft Shabazz and sign Mo Williams.

Rondo/Williams
Shabazz or Pierce
Green
KG
Big Al

You add a few more bigs to this team and have guys like Crawford and Williams playing some minutes here and there could be fun. I feel like at times Rondo-Williams back court would be deadly.

Plus Mo could start for Rondo in case of his ACL keeping him out at the start.

All right, you asked for it (lol)
3 way between Boston, Detroit and Clippers

Bos gets Stuckey, Jerebko, Drummond and Caron Butler
Clips get Pierce and KG
Detroit gets Deandre Jordan, Eric Bledsoe, Jamaal Crawford and Celts 2014 first rounder.

Um, has anyone pitched Paul Pierce and Brandon Bass (and an unguaranteed contract) to Washington for Emeka Okafor (assuming he doesn't exercise his ETO) and Nene?  With some negotiating over who has to send who what draft pick?

ok it is a lil crazy that the pistons would trade Drummond........and I love it for the celtics but not sure pistons would pull the trigger on that but the 2014 first rounder helps

not sure this one can happen with Okafor's ETO plus BOS sends out 22mil and receives 26mil? can't be good for us.....o i see the unguaranteed there...hmmm....idk if i see the incentive for washington and for us really, Nene isnt bad but i still believe if pierce goes, so does KG....so then we would look very similar to the wizards lol

TP's for both trade ideas but i like the 3 way with LA and Detroit...its intriguing

Fire Doc.

Get Vinny Del Negro. Maybe he could run the team like the Spurs.

Got a 3 way trade idea

Celtics out:
Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, 16th pick
Celtics In:
Gortat, Vasquez 4th Pick, 6th Pick

Suns Out:
Gortat, 4th Pick
Suns In:
Eric Gordon, 16th pick Filler (under the cap, can take back a larger deal)

Pelicans Out:
Vasquez, Gordon, 6th Pick
Pelicans In:
Rondo, Pierce (filler)

Suns wanted Gordon last year, they'd finally get a "go to" guy for their team.  Celtics would immediately get a chance to rebuild.  We'd have Vasquez to take some minutes at the point and we'd still have some trade pieces left if we'd like to make a run at someone larger...
The Pelicans would rid themselves of Gordon's contract and have quite the line-up running out Rondo, Pierce, Anderson, Davis and Robin Lopez and also have cap space next year.

This is only a blow it up option.  Can't stand the thought of losing Rondo and Pierce.  But this gets the rebuilding in full swing.

Assuming KG and Pierce stay and we once again go for the gold:

Crawford and Melo for Andre Miller.

Celtics get a durable backup point (and satisfy their annual "cagey veteran who can help push this team back into the finals" free agent signing) who can actually play the position, score the ball, and make the pass. Also capable of starting while Rondo rehabs his ACL.

Denver gets rid of Miller, who was a problem in their locker room, gets another guy who could possibly become a go-to scorer, and another comically mismatched backup center who could maybe become pretty good.

Yeah, well if Danny decides to blow the team up and start "rebuilding" then it's certainly something the Celts would like.

everyone's saying that this year's picks aren't as good as next year, so buy when the selling price is low!

trade everyone and anyone for picks in the first round this year - take ALL CENTER projects

one of them is going to be amazing in a couple of years, by which time we'll have won the lottery for next year

you said you wanted a new idea, not a good one

I haven't found anything I would put my name to yet but the current idea I've been kicking around has been selling high on Green to bring in a legitimate center and then making a move to bring in Danny Granger with the hopes that he somehow manages to come back as the player he used to be before the injuries.

The trade with the Pacers would most likely look like:

Celtics get:
Danny Granger

Pacers get:
Courtney Lee
Brandon Bass

We may need to add in a kicker like our unguaranteed contracts, Fab Melo or Jordan Crawford depending on if there turns out to be a market for Granger. I can see the Pacers being interested in bringing in Lee to fill out their SG rotation now that Stephenson has emerged. And then Bass provides depth at PF with West and Hansborough both being FAs this offseason.

I haven't proposed anything yet because I haven't found a deal I really like for Green. I like the idea of packaging him with Bradley and our pick for Cousins, but some seem to think that is just a pipedream. I've never been crazy about Gortat but a package of him and Beasley would work, nor have I been big on the idea of bringing back Big Al, although if KG returns it could be a great 1-2 punch offensively and then ok defensively.

Verajo, Asik (if Howard goes to Houston) and McGee are other guys I've looked at as potential solutions.

OK, how about this:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lynz5vt

Boston sends out: Garnett and Jeff Green
Boston gets: Varajao, Butler, 2013 #1 overall pick

Clippers send out: Butler, Bledsoe, Jordan, 2013 pick #25
Clippers get: KG, Afflalo

Cavs send out: Varajao, #1 pick
Cavs get: Jeff Green, Vucevic

Magic send out: Vucevic, Afflalo
Magec get: Jordan, Bledsoe, #25

Boston sells high on Green, and gets value for KG.  They get the #1 pick this year, which may not be the most enticing first overall pick, it is still valuable, and could give them a player to build around (perhaps Noel?).  And they also get a KG replacement for the short-term in Varajao, and a Green replacement in Butler.

Cavs trade for a much needed scoring SF, who could be a good value based on his production the second half, and also is a high character guy to have around the young players. They swap Varajao for a younger, cheaper center, who might have better luck staying on the court.  It gives them a nice young core to grow with.

Orlando get one of the better young PG prospects available, and add a good young defensive center to replace Vucevic.

The Clippers get the veteran big man that might make Paul happy, and could also help lift Griffin to the next level, and get him to care more about winning than making the highlight film, while also giving them a high quality wing who can shoot, and really defend.
