I've seen some more of Nogueira and I wished the Celtics had another first round pick so they could either get him, or Giannis or Ledo or Karasev. This draft is weak in the lottery, very weak, but it's boasts a lot of very intriguing players from the mid-first round onward.
Nogueira is bigger and more athletic than I thought. He has the same kind of body as Gasol: very long and gangly, lean but not skinny and skeletal. Also like Gasol, he's not explosive but fluid and coordinated. Unfortunately he lacks Gasol's extremely high skill level, although he's a pretty good passer. He has nice potential as a finisher off pick and rolls (if the Celtics ever roll their big man more than twice a game), rim protector and offensive rebounder, all qualities the Celtics have sorely lacked the past few years.
Karasev's another very intriguing player, starting with how productive he's been over in Russia. Unlike many Euro prospects, he's gotten major minutes and been really good. He's nice ballhandler and pick and roll player with a smooth shot. It's easy to see him fit in the Spurs system which makes me want the Celtics to grab him to accomplish two things: reap the benefits of his skills for themselves and keep him away from the Spurs.
