I disagree with a lot of people on here about a number of things but if there is one thing I think we all agree on, is how bad we want to be back on the biggest stage. Watching the Spurs got me feeling all ornery and stuff. Theres nothing like playing in June.

Heres to getting back to the Finals with at least several of the guys already on the team. *cheers*

Trust me, I feel the same way.

I just hope we are not in for a long wait.

And to think we were just one game away from going to the finals, last year.

Then, something happened in game 6 of the ECF in Boston :'(

Me too. I was watching the spurs tonight and really wished we could have seen a spurs celtics finals at least once in the run we had with KG,Paul and Ray. Would have been really fun. But yes I wanna get back so bad! I miss being a fan of that team on the big stage! Come on Danny get us something that'll get us back to the Finals!

It's going to a while, I think.  We're going to have to hold onto the 2008, 2010, and 2012 runs.  Lean years lie ahead, methinks.

But I take heart in the fact that the talent base we're starting with is better than most teams have entering a rebuild, and we have one of the best coaches in the league and an above average GM leading the way, not to mention ownership with plenty of money to spend and a focus on being competitive.

I believe we'll be back in the mix by 2017-2018.

watching them play with the finals patch on the jerseys is another experience in itself

its like an exclusive club that only few can wear the patch.

I'm glad they at least got one ring. It's more than a lot of other NBA players can say.

Me too. What's crazy is that when Danny assembled this team, I thought this was a team built to make it to tha finals. We had 2 back-ups for KG in Darko and Collins. Got back Green, Bass, and Wilcox. Then added Lee, Terry, and Barbosa. We saw Sully make a great impact. And On paper we had a good bench. It was like we had 2 teams. But everything fell apart.

But I miss being in tha Finals. Seeing tha Celtics win in 08 was one of tha best moments in tha NBA for me. Including tha ring ceremony. I really would have loved to have seen tha Spurs and Celtics in tha Finals last year. That woulda been way better than Heat and OKC. But we won't stay down for long. We'll bounce back strong and make it back to Finals and be crowned champions again.

we are in a final...........finally for a decade out of the picture. Yet there is still a stench of keeping Pierce or KG on for another year. We will get worse before better. Guaranteed. Celtic History supports this.

Or, unload this oxygen robbing group and start rebuilding.

What percentage of teams that rebuild reach the Finals?  5%?

Obviously not.  The Spurs are a great example of a team that hasn't "rebuilt" in over a decade, but rather has smartly reloaded.

With some smart additions to the Celtics, they can become the second best team in the East again.  They're one Lebron injury away from a serious threat to reach the Finals.
