Even in a weak draft I'd rather have the #16 than a late 1st in a "strong" draft.  So much of whether a draft is strong or weak is determined in hindsight, anyhow.

There is almost always a valuable player on the board at #16.  Can't say the same for the mid to late 20's.

4. Moving the pick to secure a future pick from a bad team

1. Moving back to pick up a second rounder
2. Moving back/out to acquire a pick from a good team
3. Moving the pick and AB for anything but a top 5 blue chip guy (doesn't need to be in the top 5, it can be a guy who belongs in the top 5 but slid on draft night)
4. A deal in which we draft Shabazz (I'm fine taking him at 16 if he is available, but if we have to move up for him I will be upset)

This is the exact same things that was said to Lance Stephenson. They said he's talented but selfish, he's unfocused, immature and stuff, but look at him now?

Shabbazz has the same if not better talent. If he's there at 16 we would be crazy not to draft him. I believe definitely worth moving up or grabbing at #16.

Not sure really, looking at draftexpress.

CJ McCollum-flat out scorer who was leading the nation in scoring at 27ppg before hurting his foot. 6'3 and nearly 200 pounds. Has a very nice handle. Compared to guys such as Steph Curry and Damian Lillard. 21 years old. Chad Ford calls him the best scorer in the draft.

Victor Oladipo-not sure if NO would make the move if Victor fell to #6 but it's not out of the question. Lots of people seem to love this kid although I admitt I don't know much about him.

Trey Burke-highly doubt NO would make the move if Trey is there but he should be available in that range.

Alex Len-least exciting name in that range for me.

The knack on him is he is selfish because he did not celebrate Larry Drew II game winning shot, implying that he wants to take it instead? While that's kind of a red flag, that's extreme competitiveness, B-easy dont have that.


He's athletically better and is not a trouble maker. Scouts also noted his excellent work ethic, something Beasley is not known for as well.

Every year in the draft critics seem to find a kid and pigpile on top of him. I think Shabazz is the kid this year and a lot of his "selfishness" is way overblown because of one incident.

Agreed on everything except athletically he's better than Beasley. Beasley is a far superior athlete, Shabazz's lack of foot speed is one of the biggest knocks on him.

I don't worry about Shabazz's character from the little bit I read about him.  Sure he reacted poorly to not getting the ball and after his teammate hit the winning shot but he's apparently a solid, intelligent guy off the court.  I chalk that incident to emotions.  I'd worry more about a player not being coachable, having a poor work ethic, that kind of stuff.

I'm not high on Shabazz not because of character issues but because his skill level is poor for his level of athleticism.  Also because his stats were really poor besides scoring and rebounding.  His statistical profile compares very poorly to what solid or better players did in college, with the caveat that Shabazz was only a freshman.
