I believe New Orleans drafts Alex Lin. He's a good center prospect supposedly. Then pierce and Bradley for robin Lopez and E Gordon. Lin replaces Lopez and Bradley replaces Gordon. NO waives pierce to get cap space.

I think pierce, kg, and Boston talk. Pierce agrees to sign with clippers and kg and Boston agree to go forward with a trade to the clippers after pierce signs. Kg is traded for 2 assets out of butlers expiring deal, deandre Jordan, or Bledsoe.

Clippers add pierce and kg to Paul and Blake. Paul as a result resigns. Pierce and kg get to play in la on a contender where they live.

Boston gets young talent and moves forward with Rondo.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
With so much talk of Jordan and Bledsoe these past few months, I am having a difficult time thinking of them as non-Celtics. If this trade goes down, it will be the most obvious trade in NBA history.

I think i would be ok with it. I would love to get some picks in there too. We then could have a lot of assets moving forward. Rondo,EG,AB,Bledsoe,DJ,Sully. Would be an interesting team for the future thats for sure.

Agree.....add Jeff Green to that list, though! Sounds like a nice core.

I wonder if Sac would want to get involved and take Jordan and sweetner for Cousins and Salmons. They can get rid of Salmons bad contract and we get a back up SF.

Maybe even send them Bledsoe for Thomas instead.

Not that it would happen, I just not high on Jordan who only brings down 7 boards a game, has no offense and can't shoot free throws.

If I was to do this type of deal, I'd try to flip Jordan/Bledsoe to Sacramento for Cousins and filler.  Make it a three-team trade.

Hmmm, interesting idea. How might LA fill out its roster if it uses the MLE to land Pierce?

Assuming Billups resigns for the vet min, I think the Clips would be close to the luxury tax with CP3, KG, Pierce, Blake, Crawford, Billups, and Willie Green.

Even if they manage to keep Bledsoe in the KG trade, they'd need some frontcourt help. At least two more signees, probably at min deals. Maybe they could somehow keep Jordan? Butler and Bledsoe for KG would work.

PP and Bradley for gordon

KG for Jordan and Bledsoe

PP gets bought out joins KG in LA for the MLE

Would like to send Jordan and Bledsoe to Atlanta for Josh Smith

PG: Rondo    / Terry
SG: Gordon  / Lee
SF: Green  /
PF: Smith / Sully
 C: Dieng?/ Bass

It's one of butler expiring or Jordan with Bledsoe. So they keep Jordan or keep butlers expiring as a trade chip. We have to get Bledsoe in any deal bc he's a prospect coveted by other teams that could be packaged with a bass, lee, or terry type contract if we choose to keep rondo.

I certainly like. I see Dieng as having the potential to be DeAndre Jordan, except we won't foolishly pay him 10mil.

This. I have absolutely zero interest in a KG to LA deal if we are not getting Bledsoe. It's a must or a no deal for me if I'm Danny.

This may be a silly question, but why did the deal with the Clips not go through at the trade deadline? What has changed about the situation now that makes it more likely? I guess I am wondering what end the "hold up" was on...

Pierce was still a Celtic and as a result wouldn't waive his no trade clause.

The supposed story is that Vinny Del Negro wanted to the deal and the front office not so much, with VDN trying to get ownership to overrule the GM.  If true, it's not surprising that he's gone from the Clippers.
