This kid has quickly become a binky of mine since reading about him at the Nike Hoop Summit. He has a terrific combination of quickness, size, athleticism, and playmaking ability. Sound familiar? Schroeder thinks so too..

Quote
But seeing his nearly 6'8 wingspan, wide shoulders and jarring quickness, there's one NBA comparison that immediately comes to mind for Schroeder. He's well-aware of it.

"Rondo. Everybody says I play like Rondo."

Just don't confuse his willingness to compare himself to Rajon Rondo with an inability to shoot. He shot 40.2 percent on three-pointers this season and hit 84 percent of his free throws

More good things from the kid..

Quote
"The first thing is defense," Schroeder said. "I try to lead the team and not to score. Try to find the open guy."

If it sounds like I'm gushing over this kid, its because I am. Apparently he's already received a 1st round promise and if it's from the Celtics, I'll have a big smile on my face come June 27th

Sure sounds great. I'm not sure we need two rondos, but I'd love a rondo lite who can hit a trey.

Gotta admit - I had no idea who this guy was until a few days ago.  After reading about him and watching vids - I love him!

I'm not saying he's who we should pick at #16 - but this kid is awesome.

Quick as lightning and seems like he has that same knack that Rondo has for reading the court.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

You want him on the Celtics to play backup pg? I understand admiring his game but why on the Celtics? He wouldnt play all that much in the next 7 years or so.

Because I go with the philosophy of BPA and at 16, I think he's one of the BPA. Also, with Rondo coming off a torn ACL and his contract expiring in 2 years, I wouldn't be so sure to say our PG spot will be locked up for 7 years. Even if he becomes a very talented back up, that's pretty much what you can expect at the 16th pick.

I was watching some videos on him today, and I found it almost eerie how much he reminded me of Rondo, not just his game, but also his mannerisms and how he carries himself.

As an aside, I was looking at some interviews as well, and it doesn't appear that he speaks any English.  I find that slightly odd, but also kind of cool in some way.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

he is a decent rebounder for a pg but not Rondo good. Doesn't have os leaping ability. He doesn't have os capabilities to finish over taller guys also.

Darren Collison comparison is more sound than Rondo's.

Wait, then, how did OP get English quotes from him?

I really like this guy too, I think he's gonna be one of the steals of the draft. He always looks collected and calm, and he has all the tools to become a great floor manager, just like Rondo. I wish we can get him, even though a backup PG is not our top priority. I think he will become a very solid PG in the NBA.

Good find. TP. Pretty smart how when the guy asks if he still likes to skateboard he goes "no, no that's not good for me cause I can get injured" lol

Wish the video showed more of his defense cause he is equally special on that side of the ball.

Thanks for that.  In all the interviews I saw, he answered the questions in German.  His English sounds great.

Not sure what the heck we'd do with two Rondos, but I'm starting to fall in love with that kid.

All I could find regarding his defense is in this video:

I've also watched him play in Nike Hoop Summit and I was impressed. From what I've seen he looks like a pest on D. His wingspan is Rondo-like and he also has pretty big hands for his size.
