  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
You get two choices..
My picks...

1)the Mavericks, after he they fail to sign Howard or CP3. We'll get their lottery pick and take back some salary. Perhaps their lottery and another first rounder + Marion +fillers or something

2) The Hawks or some kind of three team deal for Josh Smith. This is what Danny wanted at the deadline but felt Ferry was being greedy. Now he'll try to rob Ferry and involve another team.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Read that last line again. One more time.

Teams that make the most sense on paper

1)Dallas
2)Golden State
3)LA Clippers
4)LA Lakers
5)Denver

Now whether or not Danny can formulate a deal with any of these teams that makes sense is a whole other discussion.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Probably Clippers.

Paul has 2 homes (well he probably has more) and I think he would want to finish out his career at one of them.

Also think Danny will tread lightly as far as finding him a good situation

I don't think GSW or Denver make much sense at all. They've both got very able long-term solutions at the 3, and any cap flexibility they can grant Pierce isn't going to get them far enough down to do anything special.

Do the Clippers still have the flexibility to make a deal for Pierce?

I thought they needed Lamar Odom's expiring contract to make it work financially.

I'm convinced Danny sends him to Dallas after Marion agrees to waive his Early Termination Offer (which expires on...june 30th)

It makes too much sense. They'll send Marion Carter, and most of the bench aside from guys on rookie minimum scale contracts, and send their lottery pick. Then they'll waive Pierce or keep him.

I just don't see the point of that trade.

Not really In our long or short term plans. Would rather just keep and pay pierce.

Plus I really don't see danny trading Pierce to the lakers under almost any circumstance

Golden State makes a lot of sense.  They are a likely tax-paying team who have a big contract for a useless player (Biedrins) and more money tied up in a player they don't need in Richard Jefferson.  The problem is that Biedrins has a ETO and Jefferson has a player option, which makes the timing of a trade a bit problematic.

A true blow it up trade would be Pierce and KG (if he agrees to waive his no-trade clause so he can head west with Pierce) for Biedrins, Jefferson, filler, and first-round picks, at least one of which is far enough in the future that it is likely to be available when PP/KG are gone from GS and the Warriors have a chance of sucking.

I suppose you're right in regards to GS.

However, I think Denver makes a ton of sense. Last I knew Gallo tor both his meniscus and his ACL so he won't be back until late next year (if they even bring him back). Im sure Denver still wants to compete in the west but where are they without their #1 guy in Gallo?  Paul Pierce only has 1 year left on his deal and provides Denver a perfect guy to plug in as a stop-gap and average 18 a game and keeps them competing. No long term commitment, stay in contention, and Gallo takes over once he returns.

It may just be due diligence in an offseason with lots of possibilities, but I was encouraged to see that the C's are at least interviewing players who could be taken within the top five picks.

Great list. I would add OKC to that list, a lot of young players, some high picks and I think he could replace Kevin Martin's bench scoring while also adding defense and rebounding.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

TOTALLY disagree. I really don't get what this outrage is with dealing to Pierce to the Lakers. What's the big deal? Right now with the shape both teams are in, this rivalry has become imaginative. I would love to get Gasol back in return. Him and KG at the 4 and 5? That would be great.
