Rondo definitely. Conley is a nice player and I'm sure any team would love to have him, but Rondo is more of a game-changer/dominant than Conley.

Also, the C's have a prettt bad offense consistently, and really really have problems in crunchtime. It drives me crazy then to have your pg and best ballhandler be much less useful in crunchtime on an already poor offensive team because he cant shoot so teams sag off him and he cant drive because he doesnt want to get fouled because he sucks at free throws. So we have to run two totally different offenses, neither of which is that good.

Yeah Conley is a better PG for Memphis as currently constructed because of this.

Playing Tony Allen + Rondo = death to your spacing.

I still want Rondo (before his ACL I believe he'l be back the same guy but you never know) if you're asking me to build a team.

FYI, SImmons ranked them just about even in his trade value column.  He had Rondo #36 and then in Part 3 he retroactively said Conley belonged at #37 in the same tier as Rondo.

Quote
Even if I'm a charter member of the Rudy Gay Is Severely Overrated committee, I never anticipated the addition-by-subtraction elements of that trade: (a) Memphis becoming Conley's team, and (b) Conley making a semi-leap in the playoffs for a legitimate contender. Throw in his suddenly agreeable contract (three more years at $26.34 million combined) and he's absolutely a top-50 guy. If I had a do-over, I'd give him Paul Pierce's spot and stick Conley at no. 37 in that Rondo/Chandler group.

Having a torn ACL messes up your "value". For good reason, sadly we don't know if we'll ever get Rajon Rondo we saw for the first years of his career back.

His "retroactives" are funny, whomever has a good playoff game suddenly gets twice as valuable  ::). Whatever way the wind blows I guess.

Curry was 16th, then 3rd, but now that he's had two stinkers he's probably back down to 10th or so. If the Warriors lose at home he'll probably fall into the 20s.

agreed on all points.

Healthy Rondo would have been higher on the list.  Will be interesting to see if he cracks the Top 5 PGs next year if he comes back.

Rondo does a lot of things on the court, but until he improves his consistency game in an game out, his outside shooting, and his FT shooting I would put him behind Paul, Irving, Curry, and Westbrook.

I have been a fan of the grizzlies since the day they got Conley(granted i bleed green and the celtics are my #1). And watching him develop, especially this year and the way he has performed in the post season caused this thought to cross my mind................

who would I rather have Conley or Rondo?
- rondo has slight edge on assts and rebounds i suppose but conley can rack up the assists too
- steals and turnovers are about even, edge conley id say
- as far as shooting and scoring, i'm gonna go with conley

granted they are on 2 very different teams one has a great low post and big man game the other doesn't(u can figure out which is which :P) BUT really rondo hasnt been the star or go to guy (until maybe next year) and neither has conley.....

BUT as of now I think I would go with conley b/c he can still get the ball around, plays good defense and has a better shot and 2 yrs younger ;D

whats your thoughts?

Has Conley ever been the best player in a playoff series?

12/5/2
28/9/3/2
6/10/6/3/2
15/13/4
20/6/3
23/7/4

If he wasn't the best in the Clippers series, he was second-to-best.

13/3/5/2
26/9/10
14/6/7/2/1
24/5/3/4
13/11/7/2

Pretty darn good in the OKC series... Rondo?

3rd best on his team Z-Bo/Gasol being numbers 1/2 in some order for both series in my book for the Grizzlies.

Of course the best player in the Clippers series was CP3 and the best player in the OKC series was Durant. But having the best player doesn't do much for you when the other team has the next best three players (if not more) due to Blake/Westbrook's respective injuries.
