I feel like this guy is a nutcase and in pre-draft stuff will manage to get himself to slip

i feel a situation similar to danny granger/gerald green looming with him

but hypothetically if he was available, would you draft him?

This also involves trading up to grab him

I would absolutely. I'm likely higher on him than most but I would even move up for him depending on the price (16th pick+Crawford for example)
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Not if this kid is still on the board

but otherwise it would depend . I hate Shabazz's attitude , but he has talent .

I would probably take Dieng over him too .

If we're moving crawford's salary like that we'd have to go down slots in the draft.

wouldn't the answer be yes to any player who's highly rated yet slips to us?

Didn't work for Gerald Green but worked for Sully.  I'd take that chance again if it's Shabazz

I like Shabazz Muhammad's name, when is he going to go? Today 12:47pm

Carl Berman
He's been dropping down on our board. Lots of things I don't like. Not a great athlete, doesn't play D, always goes to his left, pouts when he doesn't get the ball. Someone will probably disagree with me and pick him in the top 10, but can't guess who that will be. Today 1:17pm

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
If he slips? I say we move up and grab him if he's in the 7-10 range.

This is kid, with all his flaws is worth it. A scorer like no other, and has physical tools to be better on both ends, highly competitive, to the point where he is not happy that he did not take the winning shot.

Sure he has red flags, but our locker room can fix those. The potential is sky high.

Agreed and with us picking higher than we have since KG got here I think it's a real possibility someone slips, who it will be will be a mystery right up until draft day.

It depends on my assessment of his mental abilities.  I don't care how great his physical abilities are if I determine that he needs some major adjustments between the ears to be a good player.

If he ends up being available when the Celtics draft, I would consider trading down or drafting him with the intention of trading him.

Our locker room will only fix those if they have KG and Pierce next year, two players most of you desperately want to get rid of.

That's true.

Which is why every draft night decision will hinge upon KG and Paul's decision to stay or leave as well.

I'm working on the assumption that they stay. But you are right, no KG and Paul in the locker room may not bode well for Shabazz. He's not a trouble kid or anything, it's just he needs veterans to be able to tell him that with all his talent and competitiveness, he needs to work within the team.

KG & Pierce aren't going to magically make a headcase "get it' though. Especially if they are on their way out of the organization.

So who in that locker room is going to fix the guy's attitude?

KG and Pierce did "magically" fix Rondo's attitude. He had major attitude problems and created locker room friction, in case you forgot. These two were the ones who fixed him.

Anyways, I still don't understand who in that locker room is going to fix the dude's attitude if it is not KG and Pierce.

If he slips its a home run for the celtics. He is definitely is flawed but he also has big time potential as a scorer and post PP this will be a huge need.
