Just wanted to get thoughts and opinions if it could even work. Think if Dwight isn't coming back to Lakers they could load up with all the vets to make one last run while we'd have a pretty decent young core with Rondo, Jeff and DH.
I have 17 reasons why my team is better than yours...

Doesn't make sense for either team.   I do not see us trading to LA anyways.   This would help us which they would never do.

I mentioned a similar scenario in another thread. I wish we could pull this off.

I don't think it's completely far-feteched as I actually think the Lakers might consider this as a trio of Pierce, KG and Kobe for one final ride could be a great narrative for Lakers fans.

For the Celtics, we land the best center in the NBA and a franchise player.

The part that I think might make this hard to imagine is that if the Lakers entertained sign and trade scenarios with Howard, they could probably receive alot more value than just one year of Pierce and KG.

BUT, fun to think about nonetheless.

I think this would be a VERY even trade for both teams. Actually if this ever happened, the Celtics win by a landslide as the Lakers would literally only have one year to win a title.

Although t would never happen, it sure would be an interesting line up and I'm not sure there's ever been more hall of famers on one starting 5

Nash
Bryant
Pierce
Garnett
Gasol

*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

I have a hard time believing a trade of this magnitude will ever happen between these two teams.

Who wants to be the GM seen as giving the other a hand-gifted title?

Too much at stake to allow these teams to deal with each other.

I don't believe it's even possible.

Lakers are above the apron, and starting with this coming off-season, such teams cannot execute sign and trades that do not get them below the apron. Barring some crazy cap gymnastics by the Lakers, I don't think such a trade would be possible.

I don't think the "only one season to win" should factor in with the lakers at all.

Ywar after year decade after decade they have been the most attractive place to play for free agents. They wwould inevitably pick up stars of their choice once they get the cap room

With that said it would never happen but I think the lakers would kill it if they did

A team above the apron, like the Lakers, cannot receive a sign and traded player, but they can sign and trade one of their own.

It would have to be a 3 team trade.  I doubt LA wants both KG and Pierce.  I'd do Rondo plus pieces in a 3 team trade for Dwight though.  I think the Celts need a dominant center more than a streaky albeit talented PG.

1) I dont want Dwightmare

2) He would have to agree to a contract with Boston which I feel like wouldnt happen.
