Seems like a pretty realistic trade, not sure if I'm totally sold on it:

Boston Receives: Lou Williams, Josh Smith, ATL #1
Boston Sends: Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett

LA Clippers Receives: Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce
LA Clippers send: DeAndre Jordan, Eric Bledsoe

ATL Receives: DeAndre Jordan, Eric Bledsoe
ATL Sends: Josh Smith, Lou Williams, #1 pick

Clippers window is now. Atlanta gets a Center for Horford and a possible breakout star in Eric Bledsode. Boston gets younger with 2 nice pieces and a pick.

I'm not exactly sure how much more LAC would have to give up to make salaries work but it seems pretty doable.

LAC probably doesn't do it because the one pushing for the trade was Vinny DL and he's probably gone

That's surprising. To me, if you've got Chris Paul you've got to go for it. He's an incredible player, but who knows how much he's got left in his body.

Celtics say no.

The Celtics would not give up a 1st to go along with Pierce to get Smith, why would they then give up KG?

I would say that the Clippers are a serious contender if that goes through.  Especially if they could get a better back up center.

Not sure the deal is very good for the C's though.  Never like Lou Williams that much.

in above scenario they're recieving Atlanta's first, not surrendering.

I don't think Atlanta would be keen on adding soon to be free agent Bledsoe with Teague likely signing a sizable contract with them this summer, especially when they could just keep the pretty affordable Lou Williams as his back-up without burning a 1st rounder to swap Smith for Jordan.

I think it's far simpler and more likely to work directly with Atlanta using Jeff Green as bait.

SF: Jimmy Butler
PF: Pau Gasol

I understand.

Is KG worth two late 1st round picks?

My only problem with this deal is if we deal KG, then it defeats the purpose of acquiring Josh Smith.

I think a KG/Smoove front court would be nice which is why I'd rather just see if we can deal Pierce for Smith in a sign and trade.

I'd actually rather not deal KG for anything less than a Blake Griffin type.

I'm not a huge Josh Smith guy myself, but one thing to consider: He's always going to be a pretty nice, attractive player for a team thta's a player away. Kinda like Iguodala.

So you get him as a piece, hope he works out, worst case scenario you can always dump him and get a pick out of the deal.

If he is that attractive, Atlanta would have been able to move him.

I agree especially giving up a 1st in the process.

This is an unbelievable deal for Atlanta. They are trading an unrestricted free agent, a player coming off a torn acl and a late first for two young studs. I would much prefer dealing KG for the package LAC is sending out then seeing who we can get for Pierce in a separate deal.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

If, in that scenario, the Clipper are going to give up Jordan and Bledsoe, I'd rather just do a KG, Pierce for Jordan, Bledsoe and Butler trade.

Celtics:
DeAndre Jordan / Melo / Draft pick?
Sully / Bsss
Green / Butler
Bradley / Lee / Crawford
Rondo / Bledsoe / TWill

* 16th pick (off guard? PF?)
* mid level vet
* Try to put a package together for Josh Smith?

That team is basically rebuilt and with another move or two you could have serious contender.

For the Clippers:

KG / Free agent center with the mid level?
Griffin / Odom
Pierce / Barnes
Willie Green / Jamaal Crawford
Chris Paul / Player

That just seems like a win, win for everyone.

* We get a starting center and a great back up point.

* Clippers become just nasty for the next two years and then can look at 2014 free agency

I don't think it's terrible but it doesn't get you any bigger.  It also gives us a glut of 2 guards plus 2 of your more important players coming off major knee injuries...  You would have to have another deal in place to trade Jet or Lee for a big and then pick up another SF...
