Are you capable of evaluating which player would be a better fit for the Celtics defense and more likely to earn Doc's trust in being able to play that system?

Havent quite figured out the formula for that yet but I'm working on it...

I know we need some size but that doesn't mean we should overpay so much for role players.  Every one of those guys is a role player closer to 30 than 20 except Cousins and are not worthy of ANY of our assets.  Cousins is worth MAYBE that package WITHOUT Rondo.  Mahimi was traded to Indiana for Collison and Jones.  A back up point guard and salary filler.  That is the base for every one of these guys except Cousins.  Some are worth more than others, but none are worth a first rounder.

Gortat is and should be the primary trade target.

As far as Phoenix bigs go, I would be more interested in Luis Scola.

Maybe since the new GM for PHX is from the Celtics we can work something out  ;D

LoL...I knew there was a reason we sending him over...to pull an inside job on the Suns... ;D

I have to admit that I'm shocked that Krook hasn't jumped in on this thread and shouted MOZGOV!  :)

We need someone who can defend the paint so KG doesnt have all the brunt of the load. Luis Scola is not really known as an interior defender.

(2) I think J.Green for Varejao is a good offer and one Cleveland could have interest in.

I think this is a good deal as well and I would approve of it. I'd hate to see Green go, I think he is one of our value guys and I think he's going to be even better next year, but we need a Center badly and Varejao sometimes has some big games. We can make up for losing Green. So that is why I wouldn't be opposed to losing Green for a legitimate Big.

I think it is more costly for us to NOT have a true big for yet another season than it would be for us to keep Green and not have a Big.

If Denver had a choice between Varejao and Bass - why would they choose Bass?

Hmmm ... Varejao and Faried together would be a fun combination. Lots of hustle.

NO Mosgov! Why I oughta...Ok those options seen good If we can get the other teams to swing on a trade. Thing is I get the chills every time I see Bradley shopped, even on a speculative fan forum. He's so special

Not really. I think as fans, alot of people overvalued Bradley which tends to be the case more often than not.

Bradley was awful in the playoffs and was owned by Felton.

I think Bradley's trade value is fairly low due to his poor showing offensively this past season + concerns of what his natural position is and just how effective he can be there.

I think he's a guy that is best to hang onto for the time being. Continue to develop him. There doesn't look like there is going to be much upside to trying to trade him right now.

Absolutely agree with this.  If we are in retool-rebuild mode next year, then I don't want to give up any of our good young building blocks for only decent talent.  Yes if we can get a young big who is potentially ready to be a star (cousins) for the future, then do what it takes.  But for decent centers like gortat and sideshow bob, I just don't see doing that now.  We really could have used Gortat two years ago and last year.

I think Gortat would be a great target.

Would a package of Melo, Crawford, unguaranteed contracts of Randolph and White, plus the rights to the 2013 1st rounder be enough for Gortat after July 1?

That's very true. I think Bradley is one of those guys such as a Danny Green persay where they are more valuable on your team than anything you could get in return for them.

The main issue is that these guys all suck. That's why they can "be had." Pekovic is the only one worth his salt, and he's going to get paid for it.

Maybe we should target players other than garbage Centers? We aren't contending with one of the above mentioned, so might as well just shoot for "best available" anyone and start building from there, no?

I don't think Gortat or Varejao "suck."
