In my mind I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Courtney Lee would explode as the spot up 3 pt shooter, and defender that we've always wanted from him. But at this point, I'd rather try to grab JJ Redick, since he's basically the Ray Allen we sorely missed, but younger, and well.... White.

But what bargaining chips would we trade over to the Bucks?

Possibly considering JJ Redick is a free agent. I was hoping we could package Bass/Crawford/Lee for some picks, and a cheap contract. That way we could save cap space, and try to go after Jefferson/Smith.

Lee and Sullinger for Redick and Dalembert S&T maybe?

I'd like to do it, but I want to keep Sully.

If anything I don't mind giving them Bass/Lee for Reddick/Dalembert. Since they are solely lacking in the PF position, and their Center is already covered. Plus their defense ranks among the worst in the league for OPP scored.

I suppose it would need to be a sign and trade. Too expensive to sign outright. I think a Courtney Lee for JJ Redick straight up is a fair trade.

Lukewarm interest in Redick. Not sure he is what the team needs.

The only reason I mentioned him is one year difference, and the interest Danny has put in him. I feel with 1-2 years of experience with the Celtics, Redick would definitely flourish and rain 3's.

People forget this is the one who received 50-75 death threats on his phone, for being so dominant on the 3.

Lee is better than Reddick. And remember "I feel with 1-2 years of experience with the Celtics, ______ would definitely flourish and rain 3's." is exactly what they said about Lee. Exactly.

I'll take Lee. He's got defense too

Reddick is a good defender and a better player than Lee.  He is also older and less athletic, but you would rather have Reddick than Lee today no doubt.

Courtney Lee vs. JJ Reddick
DRtg: 104 - 113
3P%: .372 - .366
FG%: .464 - .434
Ast: 2.7 - 3.8
Reb: 3.5 - 1.9
Blk: 0.4 - 0.1
Stl: 1.7 - 0.3
Tov: 1.1 - 1.2
Age: 27 - 28

Is this a comparison? Lee is far superior, and this was a down year for him.

Conveniently missing are points per? Guess you just had to have space for blocks, the bread and butter of the shooting guard :P

Lee is a better defender, Reddick is a better scorer and distributor. All rumours for Lee's "far superiority" are greatly exaggerated. Lee pretty much played himself into a DNP in the playoffs.

JJ Redick was much better before the mid season trade.  In Orlando he was averaging twice as many points and assists with a better TS% and eFG than Lee in about 5 more minutes.  He had a much higher PER and a bigger win share as well.  Even after the trade Reddick was a much bigger factor in the playoffs than Lee who couldn't find minutes over Jordan Crawford and Terrence Williams.

well, we should try to get a better player from the Bucks. They traded a young Tobias Harris as trade filler for Redick, and they traded a top Center in the League in Bogut for the uber-efficient Monta Ellis.

I'd love to get Ilyasova and Dalembert from them. Can't think of a package bad enough to entice the Bucks.

Monta Ellis is a beast.  The only players I am interested in the Bucks roster are Larry Sanders, Monta Ellis and JJ Reddick.

Monta Ellis would either choose to get paid next year and become a free agent the year after or become a free agent this year.  Either way he is too expensive for us to land him.

I am not sure if the Bucks would trade JJ Redick since they just shipped out some nice young pieces for him.

I highly doubt that the Bucks are foolish enough to trade Larry Sanders, but a Celtics fan can dream...
