Can we still try to accquire JJ Redick?

The only players I am interested in the Bucks roster are Larry Sanders, Monta Ellis and JJ Reddick.

Larry Sanders was picked 15th. Why can't we find someone like Larry Sanders with our mid-first-round picks...

In my mind I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Courtney Lee would explode as the spot up 3 pt shooter, and defender that we've always wanted from him. But at this point, I'd rather try to grab JJ Redick, since he's basically the Ray Allen we sorely missed, but younger, and well.... White.

But what bargaining chips would we trade over to the Bucks?

We picked Al Jefferson with our 15th pick.  We also picked Rondo, Bradley, Sullinger all between 19-21.  Besides there are plenty of Hasheem Thabeets and Kwame Browns for every Larry Sanders.

I think there's also something to be said about the type of looks they get. I'm not sure Lee ever took a 3 when there was a guy within 15 feet of him. I was outright shocked to see him at .370 b/c I can see about a 1000 wide open, unconverted looks.

The 3 pt shot is now a standard feature of most if not all NBA offenses and without looking up the specific numbers the Celtics are way below average in this department.  Figure Rondo into the mix and it gets even worse. 

This team struggled to score points far too often and granted, Rondo is going to help in terms of distribution but its still a team sorely lacking in outside scoring.  After Rondo the rest of our guards are all lousy passers.  In fact save for KG, Sully and maybe Pierce, it's a horrible passing team. 

This has to change.

If Ainge brings in a legit backup PG -- like Will Bynum, JJ Barea or Luke Ridnour -- and keeps Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley ... where do the minutes come from for JJ Redick?

Can Boston really offer JJ Redick a large enough role to justify the trade package + salary considerations they would offer to land Redick?

I think Redick would end up playing the 2nd most guard minutes after Rondo if he were to be added.  Essentially take the Ray Allen role whether starting or coming off the bench.  Bradley would take the bulk of the leftover minutes at both guard positions, with a 4th guard filling in the regular season rotation (a la Nate Robinson in 2010).

What does that mean?  Al Jefferson averaged 20 and 11 for a couple of seasons.  Don't you think that's a little better than "one DPOY consideration" whatever that means.  Avery Bradley is just as good a defender as Larry Sanders if not better.  Sullinger had a better rookie year than Larry Sanders despite missing the half of the season where he was getting regular minutes and producing regularly.  I love Larry Sanders and I think he is the best young player to play with Rondo, Bradley, Green and Sullinger but I wouldn't trade Sullinger straight up for him.

JJ Redick was much better before the mid season trade.  In Orlando he was averaging twice as many points and assists with a better TS% and eFG than Lee in about 5 more minutes.  He had a much higher PER and a bigger win share as well.  Even after the trade Reddick was a much bigger factor in the playoffs than Lee who couldn't find minutes over Jordan Crawford and Terrence Williams.

Our team makeup is far closer to that of Milwaukee (playoff team) than that of Orlando (junk)

You do realize he was a 38.6% shooter throughout his first four years, and even that number is skewed by one bad here. In his first four seasons, he had three in which he averaged more than 40%.

Huh?  He was traded mid season to a completely different team where his minutes and role was totally inconsistent.  In the team where he was with for the majority of the season, he was a much better player than any of our shooting guards.  The constitution of Bucks and Magic hardly matters.
