I hate the myth that lebron can guard anyone in the NBA. he cannot guard point guards that are super quick like westbrook or nate.
Nate is quicker than lebron so i think this is funny.

  • It's all about the TEAM!
Nate will probably foul out in the 2nd quarter because of this.

LeBron can certainly guard a point guard that is super quick.  In fact, that was the big story of the 2011 Conference Finals (HEAT vs. Bulls).

Quote
After going 0-for-5 from the floor with a turnover when guarded by LeBron James in Game 4, Derrick Rose struggled against him once again Thursday, going 1-for-10 with two turnovers in Game 5. Rose shot 6.3 percent from the floor in the series when defended by James, lowest among any player that defended him on five or more plays.

Derrick Rose struggled badly when LeBron guarded him in that series.  It was a key factor in a quick Miami series win.  LeBron might not guard a point guard all game long, but he can do so in stretches and at key moments with great success.

If he does guard a pg, it's not for extended periods, this will be interesting.

I think LeBron not winning Defensive Player of the Year is really stuck in his craw. Now he's trying to show that guard literally every player in the NBA.

Plus, if LeBron is on Nate, does that mean that some other matchup will result that favors the Bulls, such as Boozer or Butler being guarded by Chalmers or Allen?

The Zebras will make it hard for Nate tonight. I can see it now.

Nate is way quicker than Lebron. And as strong as Lebron is Nate is strong enough and low enough that Lebron won't have a strength advantage either. He will have a length advantage and a huge one at that.

Those of you who have some dislike of Nate won't agree but no one can actually guard him, its just a matter of whether you bother him a little and if he is missing or not. He can blow by anyone, or drive and step back and clear enough space. He has figured out how to use his ability and is the best he has ever been.

Nate Robinson is the bull's version of JJ Barea that killed the heat in 2011.

In watching the highlights of the Bulls-Heat Game 1, I was amazed at this one move Nate made—a crossover into a jump shot. He's so quick and has such bounce in his legs. I hope he destroys the Heat again tonight.

Right. When he drives he has a move where he steps back a little and elevates immediately and he does it so quickly the defender is still moving backwards and only can raise his arms. Nate has more athletic ability pound for pound by far than anyone in the league. And he has figured out how to use it. You can't blame teams too much for having given up on him but man he is exactly who we needed this year and if the Celtics had been a tad wiser we would have had him.

Didn't Rose get some kind of leg injury vs the Pacers in the previous playoff series?

In any case, I remember in 2010 he said he was going to cover Rondo because every player they put on him failed mightily. Either Mike Brown didn't think LeBron could do it or LeBron wasn't able to stay close enough to Rondo that people noticed he was trying to guard him.

Honestly, as a 53 year old who has been a rabid dog Celtics fan since age 10, I have never cared about the playoffs much when we aren't in or have been eliminated. But this is different for me this year. Both Memphis and the Bulls are teams that I feel like I would have constructed myself. I loved Gasol and Zbo. I loved Noah. I like guys like Belinelli.I want guys who can create like Nate. I felt like there was a good chance that coming out of Ohio State Conley would be the better player vs Oden. I never stopped appreciating Tony Allen. The year both Zbo and Boozer could be had on the cheap about 5-6 years ago I wanted one of theme. These two teams play hard every minute and play physical and big and with great passion. Its the way it should have been for the Celtics. I feel almost like I am rooting for the Celtics.....

But not quite.

I feel exactly like you. After the C's were eliminated I didn't think I would care about a playoffs game, but it's teams like the Bulls and Grizzlies that make it hard not to pull for them. Just grinding it out without the "marquee" names in a sense.
