Let me start by saying I'm not really suggesting this but if going into full rebuild mode what sense does it make to hang on to a 27 year old PG who may not be back until the Allstar break. Keeping Rondo keeps you just talented enough to hang around the 8th seed range but never really contend; the dreaded area of the NBA.

Say we keep Rondo and go full rebuild. This will take at least a few years maybe 5 right? So by then Rondo is well into his early 30's with a roster of young pups. It doesn't exactly make sense.

Wouldn't it make more sense to cash Rondo in for assets/draft picks and truly suck? Would Sacremento revisit a Cousins/Rondo type swap? Would Detroit consider a package built around Andre Drummond and draft picks?

Again, I love Rondo but this is something Danny needs to consider

Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

I agree. Rondo doesn't strike me as the type that would want to stay on a rebuilding team anyway. He'd probably leave us in free agency. Besides, even if he did stay, by the time we become contenders again, he'll be leaving his prime.

That's kind of my point. I love Rondo but if going full rebuild, does it really make sense to keep him on this roster?

don' think DA will be shopping Rondo to just move him.   But if he can get a good center like Cousins in some deal ... I I think he goes for it.

Decent big is harder to get

Rather not trade Rondo, but  it might be easier to build around a big man as your key player.

I think bringing in a really good big ,  and somehow keeping  Rondo,  might be enough to keep KG playing with/or without Pierce

Yawn...there's enough threads discussing this.
