Tough, tough season to swallow.  So many injuries.  Losing Rondo, Sully & Barbosa killed our chances of at least making it back to the ECF.  For a team that had such high expectations at the beginning of the season, it was just tough to watch.

On the other hand, Green and Sul y, both, really impressed and surprised me.  Didn't think Green would earn his contract, by tso far, he appears to be worth at least that much.  I had zero expectations for Sully, so his play really was nice.  The kid definitely has potential.

Overall though, I'm kind f glad it's over.  Just couldn't take seeing them struggle any more.

Lol... really though it went pretty much as I expected once Ray bailed.  This team hasn't been a contender in 2 years.  I had my fit during the trade deadline last season when we didn't move Ray and Pierce for assets.  This season, it was pretty unlikely we were going anywhere in the playoffs, but there really was no better alternative.

Right now, our best option is blowing it up and tanking for the 2014 draft.  I'd also like to see us sign Greg Oden... just for giggles.  Beyond that, I'm not giving my hopes up... probably another sitting-duck season until PIerce and KG finally retire and we start the long rebuild.

I was pretty satisfied with the team, but I thought it was one of Doc's worst coaching years. I can't understand why he continuously plays players that refuse to rebound. When you see guys like Garnett acting like the game is volleyball and you see Iman Shumpert outrebounding Jeff Green that is just completely unacceptable and for that reason I won't freak out if Doc leaves. He really puts up with a lot and rewards players who aren't giving their best effort and I find that maddening. How Sheed found any playing time whatsoever still bothers me.
I think we learned the answer to whether we are better with or without Rondo. We found some players that give hope for an ok foundation for the future. I'm modestly optimistic
So Doc plays Sheed so as not to play small ball, which I think we can both agree just about 95% of the people on Celticsblog hate,  and the result is, according to you, rewarding a player with playing time that didn't deserve it due to lack of effort. So Doc screwed up.

But Doc is given a team where clearly the best players played in the playoffs and deserved the playing time this year, but it so happens that those best players created a need to play small ball. So Doc screwed up.

I am beginning to think, Doc has a tough job.
There is nothing tall ball about having your center play as far away from the rim as possible. After a month two of seeing Sheed do nothing but jack up threes Doc should have probably established a pattern. We've seen that before. It was called Antoine Walker.

And there's nothing deserving about playing time if you refuse to rebound. There were many times where we would have just been better off actually getting the rebound and then passing the other team the ball at the three line than letting Iman or Kidd get an offensive rebound within a few feet of the basket.  Doc did nothing about that except reward them with more playing time.

I feel like its hard to be disappointed when two of your starters go down to injury, one of them being your teams best player.

We had high hopes for the season and the injury bug nailed us yet again. Of course I am disappointed about the injuries, but we went into the playoffs with our best players being

1a. Pierce
1b. KG
3. Green
4. Terry
5. Bass
6. Bradley (who played well for 7 minutes of our last game this season).

Beyond that we had Lee who was for some reason put in the dog house. Jordan "I'll always call Jamal" Crawford who could crack the rotation or floor on the Wizards for crying out loud. A capable yet again doghoused but also just coming back from major heart surgery Wilcox. A rookie with raw raw skills. And three players who played in China for more than 1/2 of the NBA season and couldn't get jobs anywhere else.

Again I am disappointed with the way the injuries caused our season to derail. However, I voted for a step above neutral to be somewhat satisfied because when you look at what we had to work with, beyond top heavy guys, we really had nothing to work with for a good portion of the season.
