after hearing all those smith to celtics
it came to my mind that after watching atlanta vs. indiana..he is a bad shooter and can't even hit a free throws, while green is doing a good job on scoring
i don't buy on that rondo-smith teammates in high school
any thoughts?
who would you have on your team?

After going to see the Hawks-Pacers Game 4 down in Atlanta, I absolutely prefer Jeff Green.  Despite hitting a clutch 3 at the end, Smith almost single-handedly blew a 20-point lead playing hero ball.  Love Horford though, wish he were on the block.

I wouldn't. Not only will Smith command a heftier price, I'm just not a fan of him. I'd get him on the Celtics if we could retain Green. Those two together, particularly if KG is still around, could be quite interesting on both sides of the floor.

Would you give up Pierce to get Josh Smith?

Depends on what else we include in the deal.  No way Atlanta trades Smith for Pierce straight up, though.

Smith is a free agent, Atl won't get much of a return for him in a trade.

atlanta signing smith for max contract then trade smith? or let him walk for nothing?

lin/cp3

No.

Not because of what I think of Green but because the Celtics should not be handing out a contract to Smith that he is expecting.

no deal at this point.

Green's looking like a real starting SF now.  Josh Smith reminds me a lot of Antoine.
He's got a lot of talent but doesn't know how to use it effectively to become a great player.  Difference is that Antoine had a lot of heart and I don't see as much in Josh.

josh is playing for the money, if he wants a ring, they should have beaten the pacers, when he started shooting very awful, i stop watching already

beginning of the year, yes
after 2nd half of season and postseason, NO

the way Green has grown under KG and mature and his dedication after heart surgery are enough reasons for me to keep him

Josh Smith is just a flat out better player.

But it would depend on the price tag.  If the C's can get him in the $14-$15m range, he's worth it.  More than that, no thanks.

Edit:  I wouldn't trade Green for Smith, though.  I think Green probably has more value on the trade market than that type of move.  Unrestricted FA's do not command that level of player in return.

josh smith as a max contract player is not worth it imo. But if we could have Josh Smith for Jeff Green and DJ White or something like that (:. roughly at $10m) then i'd do it. He's not as explosive as Green in terms of scoring, but he'd definitely help with our rebounding problems and shotblocking (especially when KG sits).

With a great coach and a great system. i think he'd flourish here kinda like how Green has. Rondo-Bradley-Pierce-Smith-Garnett is a pretty formidable starting 5, not to mention extremely strong defensively.
